Author's Note: Hello darlings! This is the last chapter. I know it is super short, but I had real trouble finishing it off. Hope you still like it!
OOO
Rose awoke the next day, the sun shining in her eyes. Slamming them shut, she whined, "Adam, close the shutters." She smiled as she heard the werewolf laugh and close the shutters on the window by their bed. Their bed. That was an amazing thought.
After the incident with Robert, Adam had officially announced to the servants that she was his mate. Rose, although she had been embarrassed by all the attention, could not stop the swell of happiness at hearing him say it.
Opening her eyes, the young woman gazed at the werewolf. He was in human form...although she had gotten used to both forms. Both were handsome in their own way.
Adam gazed in adoration at the beautiful human before him. She was perfection...and she was his for entirety. Since she had become his mate, and werewolves were immortal, meant that Rose had become immortal because of the bond between mates.
The young woman fell back onto the bed. "Can't we just stay here all day?"
The werewolf laughed, "I'm afraid not. It wouldn't look good to my servants."
Charles peeked inside the room, "Master, Mistress?"
"Yes?" they asked in unison.
The half-angel replied, "I just wanted to see if you were coming down to breakfast."
Rose nodded, "Yes, we'll be there soon." He rolled his sleeves up, and her gaze shifted to the stitches in his arm. She was once again reminded of how lucky they all were to have only received injuries that could be easily fixed.
Charles bowed gallantly, "I will see you there, then," without saying another word, he left, closing the door behind him.
Adam drew his mate closer, "I saw you looking at his scars. They don't bother him too much. Anastasia likes them apparently."
Rose looked at him. "That's good."
The werewolf took her hand in his, "Now...we should probably go out to breakfast."
***************
Walking down the hall to the dining room hand-in-hand with his mate, a sudden movement caught Adam's eyes. Vincent leant against the wall beside the dining room door. His eyes told him the silent message that the Halfling needed to speak with him.
Understanding, Adam kissed Rose's hand, "Excuse me for a moment."
Once the young woman had walked inside the dining room, the werewolf turned to the hybrid. "What is it?"
"Master, I wish to ask your permission to be away from the castle for a while," he answered.
Adam inquired, "What for?"
The Halfling snarled, "I want to hunt down every single remaining person with alliances to Robert. I know there are a lot of them. The five that we encountered are not even a third of the amount."
The werewolf nodded, "Then if it would please you, then I certainly will not hold you back."
Vincent bent down to one knee, bowing his head in respect. "It would undoubtedly be my pleasure, Master."
Adam replied, "Then it is not my place to stop you. Leave as soon as you wish." Going inside the dining room, he smiled upon seeing Rose.
The young woman sat at the table, and her eyes brightened when her mate sat beside her. Eating beside him, she began to reflect on her original reasons for coming to the castle. She nearly laughed aloud at it all. How was it that what had started out as a hatred mission to kill a beast, turned into finding her true love and discovering real happiness?
However it had happened, she was sure glad for it.
THE END
OOO
Author's Note: I know, very very short. But I just wanted to wrap things up. The next (and last) book, titled "Prince of Darkness II: Cold Heart" will focus around Vincent and a certain witch and werewolf hunter, who is going to be making a reappearance.
It will be a while before that is posted though, so be patient. See you then!
