fighting for him again?
part 1.

It was a coincidence i met them at the same day.

Bumping into the class nerd in the evening and getting dragged by the street thug in the night.

It somehow became a routine. It wasn't a big deal, for me. They were my friends and I was their friend. It was simple as that, just not for them...

I didn't know when I became one's escape and other's comfort.

Healing scars I never made, was a hidden talent of me.

"Yeonu!" I called out, running down the path to the tall male who was seemingly waiting for me.

Tapping his phone with a distress expression before looking at me.

"M/N! I thought you left" he smiled.

He kept glancing at his phone as we walked the now quiet street covered in  petals. The loud students could be heard from afar but as we become more distanced, their voice drowned out until it was just the passing cars that we could hear.

"Is something wrong? Your father said something?" I asked. Yeonwu's father was not at all favourable. If i could get the chance, I would definitely roll him down the mountains so Yeonwu could do things he likes.

He looked at me as we kept walking, almost knocking down a old guy.

"No, I mean yea" he fumbled with his words and his fingers. He gets nervous when the topic is about his father.

"He wants me to join cram school right after school and replace my evening studies to night. If I do so, we won't be able to spent time like this. I know you get busy at night..." he trailed off with a glint of sadness.

"I mean Yeonwu we still can spend time in school right?" It was a glint of hope from my side.

We walked nearer to our homes. The streets were more quiet now, Yeonwu stopped walking and looked at me. My feet automatically stopped, petals of flowers fell in top of me as I stared at my reflection in his glasses.

"M/N..." the sudden movement of his body made my body alert. I instinctively moved backwards. It was a movement done senselessly by me yet it seemed to hurt Yeonwu by a bit.

He gently patted my hair and blew the petals away, "The time we spent M/N, means a lot to me. The evening is the only thing i look forward and we are in different classes. I barely see you. I think I'll go depression if don't get to spend time with you"

I was left speechles. The only time he looks forward is the time when he gets to see me? Do I mean so much to someone? This is just pitful. Home and school are followed by the same routine everyday, it's just the same thing everyday where even I have come to hate it. The time we spent is the time we make memories. It means a lot to him and me as well.

"Yeonwoo" I grabbed his index finger before he could leave for his house, "You want to meet at night right? Let me try. I'm pretty sure we can spend time at night. I can make adjustments."

His brows raised up with his eyes holding a new light, his smile previous as ever.

"Really M/N?" he smiled, "Even so, I'll try to convince my father okay?"

I just nodded with a soft smile and bid him good bye.

The crowd was no longer there as small kids ran around with their parents. The sketchy gangsters messed around with eachother as I stayed away from them.

With my headphones plugged and eyes on the phone, I read the text message —

"Don't walk in the crowd with eyes glued to the phone. Eyes up"

The sender was quick to locate me. I raised my head and saw the usual arcade I go to daily. The walls were covered with sketchy graffiti and led lights. The music wasn't loud so it was easy to hear his voice.

"You got 500 won?"

I smiled and dragged him inside, "I do"

"May I kiss the bride?"

The arcade was full of people. Mostly teenagers who were here to get their minds off from whatever they were going.

Some of the teenagers were standing in line for the games but it took me some time to wonder. Two chairs in the gaming area was empty yet no one dared to touch it? Isn't he a gangster too?

Somehow it felt like the eyes were on us. Was it because of how fiercely I play, always ending with the highest score? Today's win was mine.

I felt lot of sighs from behind, like a breath they didn't they were holding.  Taehoon slammed his head in the deck as the words shined before him, You lost.

The air became more chill as people started to leave. It was quieter.

"Ah!" I turned towards Taehoon and he turned towards me, "I don't think I'll be able to play at night with you anymore"

It was like a bomb hit him, the lights didn't shine in his eyes anymore.

"What?" he asked, putting back his drink and taking off his headset, "Are you ditching me? You dare do!"

No words escaped my mouth. Was I ditching him? I technically was but with no intentions of ditching. It's just that I didn't wanted to see Yeonwoo sad but now it looks like Taehoon is gonna cry and break my bones.

"So you are really ditching me huh?" he abruptly got off his chair and leaned on my chair. Face close to mine with hands grabbing each side of my chair. His necklace dangled in my mouth but I pretend not to notice.

"Who are you ditching me for ? Did you find a bitch for you? Oh is that YouTube nerd?"

My eyes widened in admiration. I was impressed. He guessed so fast.

"You guessed so fast. Good boy" maybe that wasn't the best thing to say.

He pushed my chair and looked up dramatically with his back facing me. I tried to crawl my chair towards him like a wheelchair and grabbed his long legs, "I'm not ditching, really. Only the timing changed. We can hangout the whole evening, just not the night Taehoon"

Suddenly he was not sad, "You're still giving 500 won for the evening right?" he smirked, "Arcades are not fun in the evening let's go somewhere else"

to be continued....
