We had gotten out of the city for now. The driver had stopped at a motel and got out of his vehicle. "Are you two alright..?" He looked scared out of his mind, and on the verge of crying. We just nodded our heads. He held his head and fell to his knees, and softly spoke. "They took my wife... They turned her into one of those.. things! They did some gross things to her... God damnit..." Tari, my partner, had tried cheering him up. "Look, she isn't dead as far as we know. It seems everyone is being brainwashed, but not killed.. My name is Tari. Yours..?"
He calmed down a bit, and his breathing slowed. "Derrick.. and I think you're right.. There was no bloodshed, so I think she is safe.."
