{Stefan's POV}

The beautiful girl that stood in front of me, was so consumed in her thoughts that she didn't even hear my question of concern.

"Audreeeey..." I questioned.

"Hhhmmmm" she hummed, as she lifted her head ever so slightly. Those beautiful honey glazed eyes with the specks of Irish green, peeked through her light chestnut ringlets. Watching her folly behavior only made the corners of my lips curve into a simple smile.

"I asked you, how are you?" My voice showed hints of solicitude and it came out with more confidence then I intended.

"Oh. I'm good, I had my traditional cinnamon waffles this morning." The way her eyes lit up at the mention of her favourite breakfast meal, made me oblivious to the wide foolish grin covering my face at her sweet innocence.

"And you didn't even ask how I'm doing!" I sarcastically replied, shoving a fist into her upper arm.

She stumbled a bit and practically swatted the air for any force that she came into contact with. She pulled a ridiculous frown, her eyebrows knitted in a furrow and her feet shuffling beneath her as she began to slip. It took me a second to realize the facetious scene before me, and I stretched out an arm. She latched onto it, her nails digging into my skin which were sure to leave marks. She tried to climb up my arm, but I held my stance firm watching as her body wriggled to gain composure.

"You're an asshole, Stefan!" She yelled, clawing at my sleeve.

I let chuckle escape my lips, and immediately pressed my lips into a line when I realized my mistake.

"Don't fucking laugh at me" Her tone was sharp and her inflection only made me laugh more.

"I'll let go of you and help you up, if you promise not to go all caveman on me" I began to bargain with her childish behavior.

"No!" She bargained back and with a sharp turn of the head, looked the other way.

I loosened my grip around her arm, causing her to jerk in my hold and nearing her closer to the floor.

"okay, okay, okay," she screeched. "Okay, I won't go all caveman on you" Her voice was now a whisper and a hint of disgust lingered as she spoke.

I let my free hand rest at the small of her back pushing her up to gain composure on her own two feet. My gaze never leaving hers as I began to search the ascending mirth spirals that filled her eyes. I hadn't realized that I hand interlaced my large hands into her slender fingers until she pulled away.

She immediately took comfort by hiding behind her hair. Oh, how coy she was being. Her cheeks were flushed and tints of rosy red began to show through. I was entirely lost in this moment, observing as her angelic features settled on her face and the way each geometric line, each feature complimented one another.

"Auds, I'm sorry about that, but in my defense it was only the floor" I stated whilst shrugging my shoulders.

She gasped and let her jaw drop her eyes meeting mine once again.

"Close your mouth, you're going to catch flies!"

A small, firm punch was made to my arm, "I'll do what I want".

"Like falling to the ground? And making sure you hit every thing on your way down" I chuckled behind my words.

"You're the one who pushed me!"

"Okay, okay" I lifted my hands up to surrender. "It was not intended to have that effect. At least I caught you" This time I let the smirk creep up on my face, earning a roll-of-the-eyes.

"You merely helped me back onto my feet"

"A clumsy pair of feet you got there" I winked at her.

"Ugh! You're infuriating, I shouldn't have said hello to you! It was a mistake!" She turns to walk in the opposite direction, but I grab hold of her wrist.

"I'm sorry, Auds, will you ever forgive me?" I say, as I make my way down onto one knee.

"What are you doing! Get up!" Her tone is now an angry whisper as her head begins to do 360's observing everyone around her.

"Not until, I here you say - you forgive me"

"This is ridiculous. Just get up"

"Urmm, how about no"

"Stefan Stilvestre! Get your sorry ass up"

"Maybe I should serenade you" I place a finger under my chin, pretending to be in deep thought.

"Oh hell no. I forgive you" Her small hands rest on my shoulders in an attempt to get me stand, but I refused to budge.

"Audrey Pearson, I'd like to make a proposal to you" I caught a few bystanders watching, and shot each and everyone of these inquisitive fuckers a glare.

"Stefaaann" She was now practically whining, but her cute childish behavior only gave me courage.

"I'd like you to accompany me to lunch this afternoon at Italia Café"

She averted her eyes so she would not meet my gaze and a sea of light pink seared through her cheeks. Had I not been staring at her as this simple subtle facade covered her face, I would have completely missed her coy behavior.

"Is Audrey Pearson, being shy?" I shouted, catching a warning glare from her.

"I'm not being shy, I'm still deciding whether I want to spend my afternoon with a moron"

"That's it!" I got up from knees only to scoop Audrey up into my arms.

"What are you doing" she said screaming. "Put me down! Steeffaan! This is insanity"

"I'm taking you to class and afterwards you'll be joining me for lunch"

"Stefan! There's people watching."

"I don't give two fucks about them. They shouldn't be looking anyways"

"Oh my god! You're a moron"

She finally surrendered. She wrapped her arms around my neck and rested her head in the crook of my neck. Her beautiful long eyelashes hid those precious eyes of her, and I often found myself staring at her in the most unhealthiest way.

Oh, how I've missed having her in my arms. It was the place she'd find to take comfort. She would stand for hours in my arms, consumed by her thoughts. But for the first time, I felt at home with her in my arms.
