"Logan hurry up" Aria yelled impatiently her golden- hazel eyes rolling with frustration, "I don't want to be late, I have science." Aria only sixteen years old, wore her usual plain light coloured clothes that emphasised her golden- brown hair and tanned skin. Aria had a natural beauty about her; she always stood out in a crowd and received her fair share of cat calls from overweight men. Her best friend of ten years, Logan wasn't too different he was handsome, with definite cheek bones, his hair like a lion's mane which only added to his handsome, charming look. He wore black hipster glasses for his poor sight.

Logan jogged to catch up, his ruffled black hair danced in the wind as his pace quickened. "Jeez," Logan mumbled, he slid his index finger up his nose and adjusted his glasses, "it's not like we're ever on time to school, quit being a nerd."

Aria turned towards him and spoke kindly, "can we please just get to school, if I'm late one more time, my dad is going to ground me for a month."

"Can't have you grounded now can we," the corners of Logan's mouth twitched up in a grin, "Eric would be incredibly disappointed if that were to happen," Logan gave her a sly wink before breaking into laughter.

Aria reached over and playfully nudged him, "on second thoughts, maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to spend a month imprisoned in my room."

Logan wrapped his arm around Aria's shoulders and directed her through the front gates of Phoenix High.

"Okay class, today we are conducting an experiment," Mr Zac's voiced droned on about chemical reactions, but Aria found herself staring out the window at the sky, she watched a cloud as it floated across the endless expanse of sky. As much as Aria loved science, she recently had been finding herself staring out the window wishing she was somewhere else. But she just doesn't know where that somewhere is. "Miss Gibbs, Miss Gibbs," Mr Zac's voice boomed from across the room, "is there something out that window, we don't see, angel perhaps maybe demons. Now you can either listen or go to the office, your choice," Aria pretended to be listening but stared blankly at her middle aged, bald teacher in his usual red bow tie, yellow button up and brown pants.

The bell rung loudly and everyone quickly packed their bags and hustled out of the classroom with a sudden urgency, "Miss Gibbs, can I have a moment of your time please," Logan was standing in the doorway and look back towards Aria, "this doesn't concern you Mr Jackson," before Logan could object, Mr Zac had closed the door on him.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention, it won't happen again," Aria looked at her shoes shamefully.

"You're my top student," the teacher looked down on her pitifully, "it's just not like you, and lately you've been staring into blank space, I'm curious to know what's wrong."

"Nothing sir, I'll make sure to catch up on anything I missed out on."

"Is something wrong at home, do you want me to speak with your father," Mr Zac sat down onto one of the desks.

"Nothing is wrong sir, I'm just tired," she lowered her eyes down to the floor again, deciding whether or not to mention her bizarre nightmares; she slung her bag across her back and stalked out of the room.

Two teenage boys and a girl all dressed completely in black, were gathered around a corner watching several other teenagers who were all in dark red, playing games in the alley.

"Do you think they saw us," Joshua was tapping his dagger urgently, and his blue eyes filled with paranoia, no different from the usual, "we can't risk them seeing."

"Well I think it's too late for that," Nora's blue eyes were staring intensely in the direction of the red hooded boys, who were beginning to parade towards the three teens, "well Isaac, you're being awfully quiet over there, something on your mind."

Isaac peered up at Nora, "you call to me, my sweet mistresses," Isaac chuckled; he looked around the corner to find the red hooded kids had closed in on them, "well I guess you little sweeties will be needing my help now."

Isaac stepped around the corner and stood face to face with an evil looking boy, "hunters," the boy hissed, "boys looks like we have ourselves a meal," the boys dark black eyes begun to flare as if a bright red flame were behind them.

"See that's the dilemma," Isaac begun to carelessly pace back and forth, "I don't particularly want to be eaten, I wish to live a full and happy life, maybe find myself a girl," he stopped and winked, "or perhaps two," he stopped dead in his tracks directly in front of the boy, with experience moves he slashed at the boy with a silver dagger.

Nora and Joshua appeared from around the corner and joined, Isaac's moved with precision, from one target to the next. Nora grabbed at a boy and used him as a human shield ready for the attack of another boy who was violently charging towards her, Joshua jumped from a bin and intercepted the charging boy, with rapid motions Joshua was able to overpower him. Joshua seemed more concerned about his friend's safety than his own, letting his guard down giving a shirtless boy covered in black gunk jumped onto Joshua's back and rid him like a wild horse.  Joshua couldn't get the boy off his back and repeatedly slammed the boy into a wall. Nora acted fast slitting the throat of her shield and running to attack the boy on Joshua's back. She ripped the boy of his back and threw him into a brick wall the shirtless boy was barely able to regain himself; Nora pounced forcing her knife through his rib cage. While Joshua and Nora had been fighting in a panic, Isaac had been happily battling with a bald boy whose head was covered in tattoos of skulls and devils. Isaac kicked the legs out from under him and in one sift gesture planted the dagger in the middle of a devil on the top of the boys head, the dagger left poking from the boys head.

"I'll be back puny boy," the tattooed boy stared at Isaac with resentment, his eyes flared red like a flame as the boy slid down the wall to the floor where he lay still with the other dead boys.

The three stood among the motionless bodies on the alley floor, their black blood seeping onto the ground. Suddenly the bodies begun to collapse in on themselves until they had disappeared as if they never existed.

"I'm hungry," Nora commented, "Peggy's diner anyone?"
