It was a wednesday, Chaeyoung and Jisoo were having lunch with the Park's. Chaeyoung's mom boasted about her life while her husband kept silent,
"So, what about you two?" Mrs. Park asked, "anything going on?"
"Actually, we have some news!" Chaeyoung beamed at her mother.
The curious expression of her mother, father, and sister sat while looking at the two.
"We're pregnant!"
"I'm gonna be an aunt?!" Alice happily shouts, "YES!"
"Congratulations." Mr. Park spoke.
"We talked about having a family and started trying." Chaeyoung held her wife's hand, "Since, we're going to have a family. I decided that after the baby is born, I'll step down from CEO."
"What?" Mrs. Park asked, "you can't be serious."
"Mom, Jisoo and I are going to have a family soon." Chaeyoung says, "I have to be there for the child."
"We were there for you!" Mrs. Park defends, "how could you be so selfish."
"You were never there for me, only Alice practically raised me." Chaeyoung objects, "you missed my childhood and only waited until I was 18 to be in my life."
"Mrs. Park, we appreciate that concern but many are capable of running the company." Jisoo says, "Chaeyoung, has already selected a few."
"I see..." Mrs. Park jaw clenched, "Well then, have it your way."
As time soon passed, Jisoo was with the maid who Mr. Park assigned to take care of her. Jisoo was wearing a white dress as she walked inside the apartment, she smiled smelling the delicious smell of cinnamon rolls in the air.
Jisoo walked up the stairs to the nursery room that they were going to build soon, her hands ghosted across the crib that awaited for their baby.
"Chu! I'm home!"
A shout from her wife echoed through the apartment, Jisoo swiftly turned around towards the open room door.
Chaeyoung placed the groceries on the counter with her sister, they both chatted with the Maid before a piercing scream was heard. The three looked at each other before rushing out the kitchen,
"BABE?!" Chaeyoung shouted while running up the stairs, "BABE?"
She looked down the hallway seeing the nursery room opened, a feeling of sickness rushed through the blonde as she walked towards the room.
"Jisoo?" Alice softly called out from behind.
Chaeyoung pushed the door wider before she saw the sight of her wife standing there, fear that Chaeyoung never saw was painted in Jisoo's eyes.
"Oh my God!" Alice pushed Chaeyoung back as she and the maid rushed to Jisoo,
The brunette stood there in a puddle of blood that surrounded her, Jisoo looked down before breaking down. Alice and the Maid both looked at each other, before Alice looks over at her sister.
"Chae, you need to comfort her." Alice says despite hearing Jisoo's desperate sobs.
"My baby, my baby's gone!" Jisoo cried out, the puddle of blood stains the dress and her hands as she sat in it.
"Come on, we'll call the hospital." Alice and the maid left the two alone.
Chaeyoung walked over slowly, she took off her blazer before kneeling on the ground front of her wife. She could see the desperate attempt to scoop the blood back but it was too late,
"Chu?" Chaeyoung felt her eyes water as her wife look up at her.
It was the second time she's ever seen her wife cry, but the first time with fear in her eyes. For once, Chaeyoung didn't know what to do.
She immediately wrapped her arms around the girl not caring if blood stained her pants for shirt, she knew she had to be brave for Jisoo.
"Our baby...It's gone." Jisoo sobbed onto the white dress shirt of her wife, her bloody hands staining the white.
Chaeyoung couldn't say anything but hug her wife tighter, she was afraid. She was afraid to hear that.
Chaeyoung wasn't afraid, until now.
Seeing Jisoo afraid made her afraid.
When they arrived to the hospital, it was too late. The doctor pulled Chaeyoung aside to tell her, their baby was gone. It pained Chaeyoung, since they both were ready to start a family.
When the doctor left, Chaeyoung walked inside the room. Blood of her wife still stained on her clothes, she could see the lifeless expression on Jisoo's face.
"Babe?" Chaeyoung sat down on the bed, "say something"
"It's gone." Jisoo replied, "our baby is gone, Chaeyoung." Water filled her eyes again.
"I know." Chaeyoung frowns, "I know, but we'll get through this."
"I...I was so happy. I always wanted to be a mother." Jisoo cried, "but it seems like I can't."
"Chu, don't say that. You're a good mother!" Chaeyoung says, "fate wasn't with us this time."
"What do we do now?" Jisoo asked.
"I don't know, but we're going to make it." Chaeyoung looks down, she grabbed her wife's hand.
"We'll become parents, I promise."
"So you had a miscarriage?"
The man sat there looking down at his notes, he looked back up to see the pained look on Chaeyoung's face.
"I'm afraid so." Chaeyoung nods, "after that, I never mentioned babies or anything related. But when we see one, I know Jisoo still misses ours."
"Would you ever try again?"
"Not at the moment? But eventually."
"I know this is a traumatic thing, but what did you feel when you saw Jisoo's state?"
"I felt lost." Chaeyoung sighs, "Jisoo never cries, she cried when I proposed. But this? I didn't know what to do. It scared me."
"Did you ever tell Jisoo this?" He asked.
"No."
"I see, so how did you two move on from this?"
"Well, we decided that we needed space from each other."
