It's the next morning. I didn't entertain the message that Rich had sent me last night. I've only met him once post divorce. I shouldn't rush into things too quick. It's blatant there's a mutual attraction though I feel like I could tease him a little. 

I decide to finally reply to his message. I feel bad I left him hanging like that but I'm not that easy.

Hey, sorry I didn't reply last night,  I dozed off. 

His reply is almost instant. 

RICH: No worries babe. Though maybe you can make it up to me later?

I want to comply. I want to do unspeakable things to him. I want him to see how crazy he drives me. I'm just not going to let him in that soon. 

Hm. We'll see about it. 

I'm not promising nor denying anything. 

A knock on the door allows me to finally put my phone down. Once I reach the door I'm greeted by Lauras face. 

"How's the boyf then babes?" She inquires. I'm genuinely perplexed. 

"Huh? There's no boyfriend or man in my life babes?" 

"Oh come on. Jed told me everything about you and Rich in the cupboard. You thought he didn't see?" She chuckles. My cheeks flush in pure bashfulness. Trying my best to compose myself, I stand firm.

"Nothing was happening. Just nearly a little peck that's all." I try not to act as though we were milliseconds away from eating each others faces off. I lose myself in thought wondering how it would feel if his lips were on mine. His tongue swirling against mine. His teeth nipping against my bottom lip.

"Hellooo! Earth to Adele, Jesus. You are so thinking about him right now. When are you seeing him next then? Maybe you'll actually get a chance to kiss him this time and who knows maybe slip in a cheeky fuck." I just want her to shut up at the moment.

"Lau, you know I'm not doing casual sex anymore. Did it once after my divorce, ended up falling for them and getting my heart broken. The thing is, he told me he wants more than just sex with a woman. He wants to settle down." Him feeling the exact same way I do gives me a spark of hope. 

"So you are attracted to him? I dont blame you, babe. Just don't rush into things, we know where that gets you. Take things slow make sure he's the one for you. I cant lie though, I could totally see you two together, mixed babies n all." She voices. 

"I'm aware. I don't even know if I like him, I've only met him once since being divorced. Though, I will say I've always had a little thing even when I was married. I had an urge to but never acted upon it. I dont agree with adultery. Never mind the fact him and Simon were so close and still are."  Yeah, it's just a thing. Nothing more. Nothing less.

"Alright babes. I'm off now anyway just came to catch up. Let me know how tonight goes." She gives me a brief hug with a kiss on my cheek before leaving. Once she's out the door I make my way upstairs ready to watch a movie. 

Scrolling through Netflix for about 10 minutes I finally select Step Brothers. I've always loved comedies and It's one of my favourites. 

Midway through the movie I'm distracted  by a text from Rich. 

RICH: I'll be round at about 6:30? That okay with you?

Completely fine with me. Text me when you're leaving :) 

I've still got about an hour before he'll be here allowing me to engross myself in the movie. At times I find myself laughing out loud at the effortless comedy. Time flies and before I know it I'm notified with another text from Rich. Rolling over on my bed, I grab my phone to see what he's said.

RICH: Leaving now. See you soon babe. x

THE KISSES? Does it even mean anything? I'm sure he didn't mean to send them. It's the small things he does that has the warm feeling spread through my chest. 

Before I can comprehend how much time has passed, a knock on the door sounds through the room.
