The Start Of Everything

Thanjavur palace,

"So, I knew Karikalar? My mother, is your sister?" Questioned Nandhini.

" Yes" replied Sundar Cholar.

" Then... Then what happened to her why did she abandon me?" Questioned Nandhini.

A tear rolled down his cheek as he resumed narrating.....

" Vannanmadevi, take Mandakini and the kids somewhere safe. " Ordered Sundar Cholar as he drove his sword.

Vannanmadevi nodded and held Mandakini's hands and started to run in search of the kids.

" Senadhipathi! Bring our soldiers." Sundar Cholar shouted at the Senadhipathi and climbed up on his horse.

" Mihindu! Where are you!?" Screamed Sundar Cholar as he killed some of the Sinhalese soldiers.

Vannanmadevi and Mandakini reached the spot where their kids were.

" Will you marry me when I grow up?" Questioned Nandhini who was sitting beside Karikalan.

" Hmm, if I fall in love with you" replied Karikalan.

Nandhini got up and stood in front of Karikalan, folding her hands against her chest.

" If you don't marry me, then I will make sure that you won't be able to marry anyone, I will kill myself and haunt you forever." Told Nandhini.

Karikalan gulped and got up, " o-ok I will" told Karikalan.

" Karikala! Nandhini! " Called out Vannanmadevi.

Both the kids snapped their heads towards their mothers.

" Amma! " Both of them called out as they walked to their parents.

" Come let's go, It is not safe for us to be here," told Vannanmadevi as she held the children's hand.

" What happen Amma?" Questioned Karikalan.

" The Sinhalese soldiers are here." Told Vannanmadevi as they started walking Faster.

They saw a soldier heading towards them, riding his horse towards them. They stopped at their place.

Nandhini hid behind Karikalan. Vannanmadevi and Mandakini gulped.

The soldiers were about to attack them when Sundar Cholar saved them by stabbing the soldier.

Sundar Cholar lifted Nandhini in his arms, as she was shivering in fear.

" Come let's go." Told Sundar Cholar.

Sundar Cholar told them to stay in an abandoned hut near the temple.

" Please stay here." Pleaded Vannanmadevi holding his arms.

Sundar Cholar turned and held her shoulder. " It is my duty to save the people of my country, I am not a king if I hide when my country is in danger, I will have to go." Told Sundar Cholar.

Vannanmadevi nodded with teary eyes.
" Stay here until I come," told Sundar Cholar as he left.

" Mihindu! " Shouted Sundar Cholar, A man with golden armour came to face Sundar Cholar.

" If you had wanted to die, you could have sent me a letter, I would have chopped you into pieces ."Sundar Cholar screamed at the man.

The man looked at Sundar Cholar and started laughing maniacally. " Let's see who dies." Scoffed Mihindu.
