“An optimist expects his dreams to come true; a pessimist expects his nightmares to.” - zeretia Dr. Laurence J. Peter quotes (American "hierarchiologist", Educator and Writer, 1919-1990)

Blake's POV

"Blllllllaaaaaakkkkkkeeee. I know you're here. Come out, come out, wherever you are. You can't hide from me forever."

The voice was close, it was loud and it sounded as if it was on top of me. I looked up at the ceiling. No one was there. I knew it was a male's voice. I just didn't  know who the man was. I sat down on the floor quietly and slowly. My heart was beating loudly in my ears. I was clutching a knife in my hands tightly, so tightly that I thought I was going to bleed.

I was in my closet, shaking uncontrollably. My breathing was hard and loud as if I just finished a very tiring race. I watched through the little, tiny, rectangular spaces through my closet, waiting and praying that he wouldn't come in here.

Footsteps came closer. Closer, closer, until they were in my room. I held my breath, trying to stop the shaking. But was failing terribly, as the footsteps moved in my direction. I bit my bottom lip just as he spoke again. "Where are you? I just want to play..."

Slowly, and as quietly as I could, I stood up, the knife still tightly gripped in my hands. The door of my closet swung open and there he stood. His seven foot and over frame blocking my way out, midnight black eyes, and the same magician hat he always wore. But every time I saw him, his skin would always be more rotten than it was the last time I saw him.

He smiled at me, showing all of his yellow teeth. The smell of death, beer, and sweat  was coming from his mouth. I shuddered and moved back just to have him grab my waist and push my face into his chest. I shifted trying to move out of his grasp, his body was full of worms, maggots, birds, ants, and other insects. I screamed, "Let go of me!"

He laughed, dark and evil like. His hand brushed my golden blonde hair out of my face. "It's okay, Blake. I'm not allowed to kill you."

He let go of me and moved back, my body was shaking again, heart pounding, I was near tears. I knew the words that were already coming.

"Until you turn seventeen, that day you will die. For now, I'll only taunt you."

I squeezed my eyes shut then opened them and he was gone. But the smell of his presence still lingered in my room.
