Chapter three

I feel a tug on my arm. Then a pull. They take me through the crowd. I turn ready to back hand the person. "Raven." it was Alexander. "What the heel did you do!"

"I didn't mean anything! She decided to."

"That test was if you would really would fight against your own friend."

"Nobody would notice if it was me or not. There was so much sand in the air."

"We get trained to see through it. So everyone knows it was you."

We are are far enough from the crowd for nobody to hear us. I had failed the test. What would they do know? "Whats going to happen." I ask.

"I don't know this didn't happen to me."

I look at him.

"What? I am sorry but it's the truth." he looks at the crowd."Stay here let me go and check it out."

He wanders into the crowd, once in awhile glancing back. The people are to focused on the ring to notice me. I stay there waiting for him for about s couple minutes.

He comes back. "She's alright. She got back up probably while the sand was settling. Nobody knows what happened yet. Better go back."

Everyone was already breaking off and going back to what they were doing. "Okay I better get back."

"I'll go with you." he looks concerned. I nod. I find Aafreen sitting down talking to the man. They look up as I come closer. "There you are." the man says. "We thought you ran away. Now that would have been bad." he chuckles.

"No. I was just with. Alexander."

"People call me Haydar."

"And this is my brother." Aafreen says putting a arm around Haydar."I am going to apologize for him, for being to harsh."

Haydar smiles.

"Nice to meet you." I say.

"Well I better be going children. I'll be seeing you around Raven."

He gets up and leaves.

"You fought well." Altair says. I just noticed that he was standing there.

"Well thanks." Aafreen says.

"Oh. I was talking about Raven." a slick smile comes onto his face. Aafreen gives him a face.

"Well thanks." I say.

The stars had already come out. Covering the sky in a blanket. I walk by Altairs side. My hands in my pocket. We find a spot near some rocks. I sit down. Altair and me touching shoulders. "How is it like in America?" he asks.

"Alright. Mcdonalds on every corner. You know what you usally hear about us."
He laughs."How is it here?"

It takes him a little to answer."Hard." but then he laughs. He faces me and gives me a crooked grin.
"Raven!" I hear my name from behind the rocks. I get up. It was Aafreen. "Yeah."
"There is an american here. Come see."
I run and follow Aafreen. Like when me and Aafreen fought there was a circle of people. I move my way through. I pickup truck sits in the front. Haydar leans agansit the hood with Muhammad. Josh opens the passenger seat door. He takes out the person and throws him at my feet. The person groans and rolls over so a I can see him. The hairs on the back of my neck rise. My head spins. "You know him?" Haydar says. I nod.
"His name is Jack."
Jacks eyes open. "Raven" he stands up.
I blink away tears. "What are you doing here Jack."
He gives me a confused look. "I came to bring you back."
"I am not going back. Who knows you are here?"
"What do you mean you are going back?"
"Jack who else knows you are here!"
"Everyone."
I back hand him. His head whips to the side. He looks back at me. A trickle of blood coming from the corner of his mouth. "Everyone wants you back."
"They are the reason I left! You were going to come to but you were just a joke." .
"Someone needs to smack some sense into you Raven."
"Don't you have some respect for a girl?" Josh pushes him to the ground.
"Leave Jack. You are not welcome here." I say.
He gets up."Just wait and see whats coming you're way. Wait a couple of days."
That's when he drops to the ground. My ears ring. I try not to focus at the new hole in his chest. I sigh and walk away.

Altair catches up to me. "You alright?"
"What the hell do you think?" I say stopping to face him.

"Look I am sorry. But we had to who knows if he had something on him."
"Why didn't y'all just scan him?"

"We did that. We found a tracker on him. One of our guys is sending it to another location. We are going to be fine." he smiles.

We go back to the same spot we were at and talk more.
His walkie talkie goes off. "Altair, Josh, Aafreen, Alexander, and Raven. Meet the general Haydar at the main building."
Altair gets up. "We gotta go."
I sight and get up.
