"Lovers don't finally meet somewhere.

They're in each other all along."

~RUMI

Dear Ram,

Do you really feel like you have no one? Have you forgotten that you have a wife waiting for your return? You promised to return after the war and left me at my parents' home. My father had warned me that this army guy wouldn't stay at home, but did I listen? So I should bear the consequences.Instead of always being busy in work, take some time to think about me.

Yours truly,
Sita Mahalakshmi

It was night, and the chilling breeze cut through the air in Kashmir. The moon hung high above the snow-capped mountains, casting an ethereal glow on the landscape below. On the lonely balcony, a woman stood, her silhouette framed by the twinkling stars.

Wrapped in a shawl to shield herself from the biting cold, she stared into the vast expanse before her. The silence of the night enveloped her, allowing her thoughts to wander freely. It was in this moment that her mind became a canvas, painted with memories, dreams, and a sense of longing.

She stood there still as her mind traversed through the moments with her beloved, her mind was filled with his words and when eyes closed only his image could appear before her. A lone tear of longing and separation from her beloved streamed down her pale cheeks.

Lalita was making the arrangements for the dinner for her Madamme. Her highness would be still at the balcony lost in thoughts mused Lalita sadly. 'Madamme, shall I heat the food for you?' she asked tentatively. Her highness was a kind lady. A beautiful and pure soul who never once hestitated to help someone in need. She loved and respected her a lot. It pained her to see her highness in pain and it pained her a lot that she couldn't in anyway help her.

Princess Noorjahan of Hyderabad was a kind benefactress, cultured and poised young lady. Her opinions stood out in the matters of state and she was considered for any decision of Prominence in the Royal family. But the lady who stood at the balcony was not the charismatic princess, it was Sita mahalakshmi who fell in love with Lt. Ram. Looking out at the moonlit sky, she hoped for a sign of her Ram's return. The pain of separation was unbearable, yet her love burned brighter than ever.

It was lalita's voice that tore through the silence and awakened her from her thoughts. 'I'll have it later Lalita, you can go now' she replied. She didn't want to disturb them with her needs.

Locked away in the confines of her opulent palace, Noorjahan couldn't bear the emptiness that consumed her. She preferred it here, in Kashmir where their love blossomed, where along each path their precious memories lay.

Unable to endure the silence any longer, Noorjahan took her diary in her hand. With trembling fingers, she began to write a letter, pouring her heart and soul onto the page. Each word carried her love, longing, and unwavering faith in their future together.

My dearest Ram,

As I sit here, surrounded by the grandeur of this palace, I am haunted by the absence of your presence. The nights grow colder, and my heart aches for the warmth of your embrace. I yearn to hear your voice, to see your smile that could melt the coldest of winters.

Since the day you were taken from me, time has lost all meaning. Every day is a battle against the despair that threatens to consume me. But in the darkest of hours, it is your love that sustains me, Ram. It is the beacon that guides me through this labyrinth of uncertainty.

Your love has filled my existence with purpose, and without you, I am but a mere shadow, lost in the void.

Know that I am here, waiting for you, standing firm against the tempest that engulfs our land. I will not waver, for I believe in the strength of our love, in the power of our connection. No prison cell can bind the spirit that unites us, for love transcends the boundaries of physicality. Take solace in the knowledge that, until you return to me, my love will be your anchor. It will guide you through the darkest nights, give you strength when all seems lost. The ties that bind us are unbreakable, Ram, and I will await your return with unwavering faith.

With all the love that resides within my being,
Your's Sita mahalakshmi.

Noorjahan sealed the letter with a kiss, her tears staining the page. But amidst her worries she knew that her love would find a way to reach Ram, to offer him solace and strength in the darkest of times. And as the world outside raged with the chaos of war, their love remained an unwavering light, a beacon of hope amidst the shadows.
