"Why are you laughing? Do you still think that I'm just fooling around?"
Hendery was at a loss for words, and he had absolutely no idea that this was going to happen.
After returning from the meeting of their club, he found his roommate, Xiaojun, who had become his closest friend, was nervously sitting on the couch waiting for him while biting his nails.
Simply by looking at him, Hendery was able to tell that Xiaojun was nervous, and he pondered the reason for it.
Then, when he confronted him, Xiaojun unexpectedly stated that he has always liked Hendery and that he sees him to be more than a friend ever since the two of them first met. He also said that he doesn't normally initiate contact with new people, but if Xiaojun likes them, he will gladly make the first move.
He did this when he met Hendery. He said that he doesn't normally approach new people. Not because he is Xiaojun's roommate, but rather because at the time he found him to be really, really handsome and desired to be close to him, so even though it was uncomfortable for Xiaojun, he still did it with all of his strength.
Even though they are each other's safe haven, they tend to speak to each other in a silly manner most of the time, but if the issue is serious, they must be serious as well.
Xiaojun always tells Hendery that he likes him jokingly, but he's not joking at all and everything he says is true. Hendery obviously isn't taking it seriously.
Xiaojun has already made it clear, through his actions, that he has feelings for Hendery; however, because the younger won't take it seriously, he has finally reached his breaking point and decided to confess.
The very same thing happened today.
"Hendery."
Hendery blinked twice. "I… I just don't know… what to say."
"You don't have to say anything and I'm not forcing you to like me back either. I am not fooling around if you still think that way. You know I always tell you that I like you but honestly I'm not even joking when I tell you for the very first time that I like you."
Xiaojun left the room after confessing his feelings and shocking Hendery, and he gradually realized everything he said to Hendery after leaving their room.
Embarrassed.
But he has no regrets about telling him that.
He's been meaning to tell Hendery about it, and no matter what the consequences are, it's fine.
Before Hendery could stop Xiaojun from leaving, he had already left the room and he even ran so fast that he had already disappeared from the younger's sight.
"What the hell. I didn't mean to laugh! Damn it."
Hendery is so frustrated that he ruffles his hair. It was just that he was at a loss for words and couldn't think of anything else to say that caused him to laugh. But he didn't mean to make him misunderstand and now that Xiaojun is out of his sight, he couldn't tell him that.
Xiaojun is right that he's been telling that to Hendery. Actually, he did believe him when the older told him for the first time that he likes him, but after seeing Xiaojun's reaction, he realized that maybe he just likes him in a non-romantic way and shouldn't misinterpret it and cause trouble.
Hendery will be lying if he says that he didn't feel something every time Xiaojun tells him that he likes him. It leads him to feel something for the older for more than just a friend too.
He frequently scolds himself for taking those words romantically for himself only to fall for Xiaojun in the process, but now that it happened, there's no turning back.
