I walked pass the forest, as my eyes trailed along its narrow paths. There were millions of them. I had to chose one. One. Or I would die.
I hated this. My body was scurrying around like a bunny running away from it's predator. Well, it was true. Except for the bunny part. I wasn't a bunny. I was human.
"Get over here, little girl!!" The voice yelled. I ran faster. Faster like I've never before. I make a risky decision and turned to a different path. The man did as well, except he almost fell. I jumped over fallen, broken, and cut trees. Some were tall, fat, short, skinny. I was able to. Some the man was stumped by.
I eventually got to my little hideout. As I covered it with the leaf door I made a couple weeks ago. The man scurried past the hideout. He didn't see me. I sighed in relief. I always knew the five minute rule to survival: keep the spot you are hiding behind or with there for five minutes. I had to do something.
I grabbed a couple wooden balls I have made out of an old tree a couple years ago. I grabbed one of the walls that I made out of bark and grabbed one of the wooden balls. I started to throw them at the wall. As it made a soft thump noise.
I noticed it was dark out. How was I that entertained with wooden balls? It was an odd thing to be entertained with. But, it was something I only had left before I ran off from New Jersey. I was in the woods, so, I couldn't be in New Jersey at all anymore.
I grabbed the leaf wall. The darkness pooled into the small, lit up space. I put the leaf wall next to the opening. As I turned on one of the small lanterns I have also made. I grabbed a lot of things before running away. Like a starter pack. I had to run. For everyone's safety.
It got really cold out. That meant it was around midnight. I place the leaf wall back on the opening of the space, grabbed onto one of the wool blankets, and wrapped my body around it. My hands were freezing among any other part. I kept those in with my wool blanket. I finally drift off to sleep. As the nighttime took away the hideout into the night with it.
————————————————————————
I woke up to a bird chirping not too far from here. I rubbed at my rubbish eyes. As I slowly moved out of the wool blanket.I grabbed some of my clothes I left from last night before I headed out and got chased by that man. Who was that man anyway? A killer? A hunter? I thought. I was more concerned on the killer part or more importantly, who was he?
I got dressed. Swapping my clothes to the nice ones I have washed. I threw my hair down, as I rubbed it in a leave–in, homemade shampoo with water, flowers, honey, and sea salt. Now that sounds like a luxurious shampoo. It wasn't. It was made out of the actual stuff.
I grabbed my shoes and threw them on. Listening to the birds chirp their happy songs. Some flew. Some slept. I was awake. An awake bird.
I walked to the opening of the hideout. Grabbing my small leather pouch of my things. Knives, Herbs, A small bone and arrow, and medicine in case something happened.
I walked out. As I closed off the hideout with the leaf wall once again. I walked away from my home.
I started to walk into the forest. My eyes trailed along the trees as I kept observant for the same man from last night.
I walked down a path. I grabbed a couple little berries and plucked them off of their stems. I place them in a separate bag in the leather pouch.
As I plucked, collected, and cleaned my small farm in the forest. I hear a loud. Very loud yell. My eyes directed to where the sound occurred.
The man?! I thought. I instantly grabbed one last herb and ran for it. Rustles rushed through. They came closer and closer.
"Got you again, little girl! You'll be dead meat when I get youu!" The man yelled out. I run, faster than before I was chased. I held my leather pouch. As my free hand was clenched in a fist. It was freezing, it was early in the morning.
I ran down the same path as last night. I wanted to go with a different path this time. So, I turned to the right path. This one was more quicker to my hideout. The man quickly caught up on my tail. I rush out of the obstacles the path held.
I tripped. Tripped. My leather pouch was still intact. I was bleeding badly on my leg. I yelped in pain. The man caught up to me. He stared down at me. With a mischievous grin.
