A cute lovable (kinda coming of age romance) between neighbours April Hale and Ryker Black. His name says it all. He's a bad boy-ish guy. With a good heart.(obviously)!
Ryder hails from an overly dysfunctional family, having serious issues woth his father. Insults and abuses screamt at full volume is what our dear April has learnt to use as an alarm clock. On being kicked out/leaving his house he asks March(he got April's name wrong) to let him stay in her room overnight. That's where their story starts.
The Hales household is....... Quirky ? Discussing the Black family politics makes an excellent breakfast time discussion topic for them. April herself is eccentric and has a different outlook on life.
Giving Ryder shelter in her room probably affected her life radically.
The story revolves around them, their sorrows , their happiness. We see them dealing and coping with various issues. The book DID make me cry ... But them I AM an emotional cry baby sooo.........
No matter what though the book is always light, no dark depressing parts here.
