"Yinyue Jun." That was one of the few things he could faintly recall after everything. Most of the things in his mind were a blur, he couldn't remember anything, all he was aware of now was the spaceship he had just aboard, but even the name of it was a blur just like everything else. He felt like he was there, but he wasn't really there. He stood silently, trying to recall something, anything, but he couldn't. He couldn't remember anything besides the sound of another voice, "Yinyue Jun.", the voice was masculine. He knew it meant something important to him, it had to, the gut wrenching feeling he felt inside when he remembered that name and that voice was too much for it to not be signifcant to him.
As he became more consumed in his thoughts, that's when it finally landed in his memory what it meant, what it all meant, the voice, the name, his fuzzy memory, his location, his appearance, everything. It all clicked, and when it did, he knew he had to run. In a flitz, he turned on his heel as he felt a slight warmth from the bracer that he currently had on, the sensation was almost bittersweet to him for some reason. He couldn't remember why he had the bracer, he couldn't remember where he got it from, he couldn't remember what warmth he was feeling, but he somehow just knew that it wasn't anything he could just ignore, it felt paramount compared to everything else. The sensation of the small amount of warmth he felt made his existence feel both stabilized, but challenged at the same time. As much as he'd wish to be lost in his thoughts, forget yet remember everything at the same time, he knew that what he had to get away from was fast approaching, he had no time to think any longer or feel as pitiful as he did right now. All that could be seen was a figure flashing through doors, up the stairs and out the windows. He was almost frantic at this point, he didn't know what was causing him to feel such a way, what had such a hold over him, but he didn't want to know at the same time, he was curious, but he knew that to be too curious in such a context like this would be perilously wrong.
He ran, that was all he could do currently as his body moved and twisted mindlessly without stop, it was like instinct. It just felt so natural for him to run at this moment, nothing ever felt so deeply intertwined with his being than the fast movement of his feet and the thought of avoidance. He felt that whatever was chasing after him was getting closer to him in a gut feeling, he couldn't think straight anymore as he twisted and turned, pushing and breaking through every obstacle in his way, desperately trying to get away. He ran and ran, after non-stop movement, he stopped in his tracks. He felt safe for a moment, he was almost completely sure he had gotten away. The warmth from the bracer raged on, of course, but he had ran for so long and so far that it was almost incomprehensible to him that whatever was trying to get to him would chase him for so long, and for once in his life, he was wrong.
The power flashed out before he could even blink his eyes, a door busted open, and glass shattered. It was at that moment that he felt the most endangered than he ever had, even though he could barely remember anything, he was sure that he had never felt so precarious in this life or any other life of his he could've possibly had, the amount of imperilment that he felt shattered all his illusions. It was right behind him, they were right behind him. Danger. "Danger" was all that rung in his ears, heart, soul, bones, and complete perception of reality. He didn't want to face it, he didn't want to turn around to catch sight of it, he didn't even want to think about it, but he knew he had to. He knew he couldn't keep evading these feelings, this warmth, this danger, this sense of urgency. He'd have to push everything aside and just bear it for the sake of himself.
Without another thought, he turned around. He had finally decided to just face it, he was over it, nothing made him more annoyed than the feeling of such endangerment over something he couldn't even remember. As soon as he had finally fully faced them, he wished he would have just went blind or rather melted into the floor, the sight in front of him was nothing beyond normal you'd see in a person, but at the same time was just so alien to him. He was mesmerized and horrified at the same time, and he could just swear for a moment it all hit him. It was like a clump of memories were rushing at him, like his past was on speed dial, he could remember everything but nothing at all, and it gave him the most euphoria, anguish, and confusion. When he saw what he deemed danger, when he saw what he knew he had to avoid, when he saw that face, that man, he felt like he had knew him for all his life. He felt like there was something about him he just couldn't retract from, but he also felt like he had to avoid him at all costs. The man's face was something that he knew deep in his soul that he didn't want to remember, he was frankly avoiding his past, and when he saw the man before him, he felt like he was facing his past and all the danger in the world at the same time. Everything inside him was just crashing down; Internally, he was a wreck. He wasn't ready for this, he was fed up, but nothing could have prepared him for this. In that moment, he tried to remember, but he could only retention his own name,"Dan Heng", and that wretched title that pulled at all the strings of his being and past.
"Yinyue Jun." The voice of the man spoke, the man who had just stricken the most terror into Dan Heng on the otherhand was looking his most satisfied, yet hateful in tandem. He stood there with a blade in hand, his long black hair with red tints flowing down his back and draping off his shoulders as the mordant smirk on his face taunted Dan Heng. This man seemed to be at an ultimate high currently, it was like the sight of Dan Heng filled him to the brim with nirvana. All of Dan Heng's thoughts and emotions were crashing together at the sight of him, it was automatic the word that spilled out his mouth, without restraint or action, Dan Heng could only mutter the one word that shook his being.
"Blade." Dan Heng simply said as he stared at the man he had finally been able to put a name to a face for. He was awestruck, he couldn't move, but he wanted to desperately. It was like the previous warmth from the bracer had only increased from a faint warmth to a riveting sensation of heat.
"Remember, Yinyue Jun." Blade spoke, staring straight into Dan Heng's eyes as his blade pointed towards him, pointing straight towards the anatomy of his heart. It seemed less of a threat, and more of a way of him trying to express something that Dan Heng couldn't comprehend at the current moment. Dan Heng stood there, his face brightened in nonplussed. He couldn't say anything else, it was a possession that he was even able to push out Blade's name due to how utterly crumbled his reality was now. Dan Heng's eye darted between Blade's face and his sword that was pointing at his heart before taking a step back, all his panic was very evident now.
"Everything was worthless if you're in this state. If you refuse to face me, then you'll face your past." Blade said without remorse or hesitance, he said all of this as if he was oblivious to the fact that he is Dan Heng's past. To Dan Heng, it was like he was saying he'd have to face him regardless. Both the choices were the same to him, he wondered if he could even object. He could, yet couldn't say anything or do anything at the same time. He wanted to pierce Blade with his spear and make a run for it, but that wouldn't last long and he knew it. This man was unstoppable and dangerous to him, if it was just as simple as taking his life once, he would've been free from this chase years ago.
"The past is the past." Dan Heng finally countered, his hold on his spear tight and dependant. He spoke in resilence, he couldn't remember, but he felt so deeply rooted in remorse and guilt. He didn't want to have to face what he had possibly done before, so he'd remain coy at the subject of dealing with his past. Standing behind a wall of denial is what gave him the confidence to dare speak against atoning for his sins. If he could just behave quixotic and derisive to purifying his past, he'd be able to deal with his emotions for another day.
"If only it was that simple to brush aside." Blade snapped back, his eyes laid on Dan Heng's heart. Blade didn't stop to process anything for a moment more before striking Dan Heng straight in his heart with his blade, the smirk on his face couldn't be missed, it perfectly displayed all the possible negative emotions Blade could harbor for Dan Heng.
Dan Heng could only choke and let out a breathless gasp, his eyes going wide as he lost all power in his knees and stability in his emotions, he felt like he'd burst into pieces at the moment. This pain was familiar to him, he had felt it before, but it most definitely wasn't as physical as this one even though it had felt worse.
Dan Heng let out one small cough of blood before gasping loudly; It was only at that moment he had hurriedly sat up from the bed he was resting in and realized it was all just a nightmare. It didn't happen at all, he hadn't seen that man or been stabbed in him by reality, and it was both relieving yet so disappointing to him. It all felt so real, the pain in his chest from previously being stabbed in his nightmare rung on loudly.
