Prologue: Born To Die

WOODSBORO, CALIFORNIA

THE HOME OF THE ANGEL OF DEATH. Candi Cooper never really thought to bother about what all her peers had to say about her hometown. All she really cared for was that's where all the people that she loved were. Until all that changed when her sister was killed in the 2011 Ghostface attack.

Throughout the rest of Candi's childhood she always found herself being compared to her older sister. Sometimes she even found herself wishing that she was her sister and that she was the one who died that day. She got compared to Marnie so much that something in her just snapped. From that point on she would decide to be exactly like her. She went as far as to making herself look like Marnie and to act exactly like her.

Well that was of course until she met him, Wes Hicks. To Candi it was "Love at First Sight" but to Wes she was just another one of his closest friends. She could tell that Wes didn't like her in the same way but no matter what she wouldn't change her mind about the way that she felt about him. After several months of talking to each other Wes decided to introduce her to his friend group. They all introduced themselves one by one. There was Tara, Liv, Chad, Mindy, and Amber. Candi didn't know why but Amber seemed different from the others to her.

"Well now that you've met everyone all of us can start hanging out." Wes said to Candi. Tara turned to Amber "Hey Amber! My mom is away on a business trip. Want to come over?" she asked. The dark haired girl smiled " I can't I have-" she froze "I have homework!" she said. "Oh ok well let me know if you change your mind!" Tara said as she started to walk home.

Candi got up from the planter that she was sitting on. "That sounds great, Wes!" she says as she looks up at him with passion. "Ok well I'll see you later right?" she asked the boy who was clearly not paying attention to her. "Yeah I'll see you later." Wes said as he waved his hand and walked away.

"Hey Tara! Wait up!" Wes said as he ran towards the girl.

"God I'm so stupid.'' Candi said as she sat back down. "Do you like him or something?" a voice said behind her. Candi jumped up as she was startled by the unfamiliar voice behind her. "Holy shi-. I didn't even see you there." She said to the curly haired girl. "You know Wes likes Tara right?" she said with a look of disdain on her face. "Well I know that now." She says as she rolls her eyes. "Before you say anything else, I'm gonna go. Bye!" Candi says as she gets up and walks away from the girl.

"Well I know what I'm gonna do when I get home." she says as she sighs.
