"Rest assured it would kill me, like an oleander"

TW: Abuse, yelling, ED, Corvid being really oblivious

Corvid sighed, their ice blue eyes looking up at the midnight sky, The stars were dim tonight and the air felt damp and sad. Corvid's crow-black hair with nearly unnoticeable blue at the end and over-sized deep purple sweater waved in the light wind. It was cold, but a nice kind of cold. It was quiet and peaceful. He liked it.

He heard footsteps, 'fuck.'

He looked over to see Sam opening the door, they had brown eyes, medium-length , brown hair and was wearing a light brown jacket, white shirt and jeans. Sam stared at the taller with an all too familiar stare, tonight was not going to be fun.

Corvid sat, picking around at his scrambled eggs. They'd not eaten recently and were actually quite hungry, but had learned how to suppress their appetite. Ozzie, his brother, was sat next to Corvid at the coffee table where they ate. Ozzie is a shorter guy, he had short, brown hair, blue eyes that were a little darker than Corvid's, and a purple shirt.

"You haven't eaten much, you okay?" His voice seemed to echo in the quiet room. It took a few moments for Corvid to actually comprehend what he said, but he forgot to answer. "Corvid?"

He blinked and tried to think clearly, "Yeah?" Corvid looked over to their brother, his generally deep voice was almost whispering.

"You haven't eaten, I was asking if you were alright-" Ozzie tried to say, but was interrupted

"Just not hungry, gotta go write, see ya." Corvid snapped back, he got up, his mind mostly blank. Ozzie contemplated following but decided against it.

Corvid placed his plate in the sink, washed it off, and quickly went to his room. They sat on their bed, it was about 9:00 AM and Sam had went to work an hour ago, meaning Corvid had some time to himself, He sat on his bed and grabbed his laptop.

After about an hour and a half of jotting down ideas and writing, they decided to finish up a commission they had- but before he could, he got distracted by something about Greek gods and read it for a while. Then went to another thing, and eventually found themself at 3:07 PM on an article about how cats can be allergic to people. Sam was almost home.

He was a little exited for Sam to come home because Sam was in a good mood in the morning, meaning they might be able to go to the old oak tree they used to have dates at. Sam was home at 3:12 and walked into the door, a frown on their face.

"How was work?" Corvid asked, but Sam just glared at him. "Want to go to the oak tree?" No answer, again. "It might cheer you up." He added, trying not to sound too exited .

"Fine, if it'll get you to shut up." Sam sighed. Corvid took it as a joke and chucked a little, but Sam just rolled their eyes.

They walked out to the place where the tree was, they got there they sat down silently until Corvid broke the silence. "So, what did you do today? "He asked." "Why the fuck are you so damn nosy?" Sam countered, raising their voice.

"Oh," He paused "I'm sorry." Corvid whimpered, looking up to the sky, " Well," He tried to smile "It's a nice day, Isn't it?"

"You are so fucking clingy and annoying!" Sam said quickly, that shit the taller up.

Corvid felt some tears pricking at his eyes. Why? Why now? Why were they doing this? Why now? It hadn't always been like this. They used to come here and laugh.

What was happening?
