UPON stepping inside Seokjin and the others' house, Myungsoo's mind was filled with anticipation and a touch of trepidation. The invitation to a private conversation regarding his sister had left him with a mixture of curiosity and concern, the weight of the unknown bearing down upon him. His gaze darted around the room, taking in the unfamiliar faces that awaited him, their presence adding an air of mystery and intrigue to the atmosphere."Dahyun," he whispered, his voice barely audible, as his gaze finally landed on his sister settled on a single sofa chair. The intensity in her eyes sent a shiver down his spine, an unease settling in the pit of his stomach. There was an unmistakable weight in her stare, a silent plea for understanding that left him apprehensive, wondering what troubling situation she had found herself in.
Finding his place on the vacant sofa chair, positioned on Dahyun's left, Myungsoo settled himself. The cushion beneath him offered a small amount of comfort, but it did little to ease the racing thoughts in his mind. The room exuded an aura of secrecy and intensity, the silence palpable as he took in the sight before him.
Before him, occupying the expanse of the sofa, were eight men, their presence both imposing and enigmatic. The others were sat while the other remained standing. There was a hushed symphony of anticipation, their postures speaking volumes about the gravity of the situation at hand. The glow of a laptop screen illuminated on the face of a man (who opened the door for him — Sungwoon) seated on the center of the couch, casting an ethereal glow upon his features.
The remaining seven men, each possessing a distinct aura, had found their preferred positions on and off the couch. Their placement revealed a careful consideration, as if each spot had been meticulously chosen to align with their perspectives and roles within the unfolding narrative. The room seemed to hold its collective breath, the tension swirling in the air, as these individuals prepared to share the situation.
Suddenly, Myungsoo's voice burst forth, the weight of his confusion and concern echoing through the room. "Let's make this conversation quick, shall we?" he paused then blurted, "What the heck is going on?" His words revealing the depth of his bewilderment and impatience. Myungsoo left his work earlier than usual, as he had received a call from an unknown number, which turned out to be Seokjin's. The urgency in Seokjin's voice had compelled him to rush to the address given to him, unaware of what awaited him there. And, seeing Dahyun with unfamiliar men was the least thing he had thought to welcome him.
He could feel the words forming on his lips, a warning of dire consequences for anyone who had harmed his sister. But before he could unleash his anger, Jimin interjected, his voice cutting through the tension like a soothing balm.
"We hadn't harmed your sister in any way, sir," Jimin said, his words carrying sincerity. His polite interruption halted Myungsoo's assumptions, momentarily diffusing the brewing tension that hung in the air.
As for Jimin, Jungkook skillfully wove together the threads of past events, presenting a concise yet comprehensive narrative to enlighten Jimin about everything that had unfolded during his absence. With a delicate touch, Jungkook ensured that all the crucial details concerning him and Dahyun were included, while also avoiding overwhelming Jimin with an information overload. Remaining composed, Jimin attentively listened, his curiosity piqued and a genuine desire to comprehend the situation driving him. As Jungkook's storytelling unfolded, a sense of enlightenment washed over Jimin, piece by piece. The gaps in his understanding were gradually filled, and he began to grasp the full picture of what had transpired in his absence.
