I was at the red light a few minutes away from my parents' house so I decided to go over there. I made a right turn and proceeded down their street. I put my signal light on and waited for a car to come by and as I was waiting a car rear-ended me. I put my car in park and get out to check the damage.

"Oh my god, can my day get any worse." I say out loud to no one in particular. The damage is not that bad but it will need to get fixed.

"Sorry about that ma, I wasn't paying attention." This fine dude says getting out his car.

"I obviously see that or else you wouldn't have hit me." I say with a hint of an attitude.

"Aye umm Ms. Lady I'm sorry about hitting your car."

"I have a name and it is not Ms.Lady."

            "Well what is your name?"

"Kennedi" I say with an attitude.

"Chill Kennedi, I know I hit your car, but it's not that serious."

            "I know, I'm sorry it's just that I'm having a bad day."

"What is a pretty lady like you doing having a bad day?"

"Umm—" I pause waiting for his

name.

            "Justin"

"Yeah Justin, I don't think my boyfriend will appreciate you trying to flirt with me."

"I'm sorry I didn't think I was flirting. Just asking questions."

"Well I just lost my job so now I'm jobless and now I have to get my car fixed."

"I think I can help you with both of

those problems. What was the job you just lost if you don't mind me asking?"

"I'm not one of those girls, so I'd rather not and I used to work at this business as an accountant."

"For real? That's strange, we are

actually looking for an accountant. Do you have a degree?"

"Can you pull into this driveway right here. It feels awkward standing in the street like this just talking, but

no I do not have a degree, but I will be getting it next Saturday."

"We can't just pull into anyone's driveway."

            "It's my parents."

We both get into our cars and pull

into my parents' driveway. I wonder why they didn't come outside. Maybe the impact of him hitting me wasn't that loud because nobody came outside.

""Okay now Ms. Kennedi, as I was

saying I think I can help you with both those problems. My father owns a car

dealership and is looking for an accountant and he also owns a body shop right down the street from it. Give me a call tomorrow and I will see what I can do."

He says handing me a business card.

            "Okay."

I wait for him to leave before I knock on the door to my parents' house. I would use my key but it is for emergencies
