Junior was tasked by Jaune to monitor the experiments' progress, and depending on their state, he would handle them through Jaune's protocols. As he checks on the tanks, he remembers Jaune's earliest creations: Knuckles, Point, Edge, and Lead (Refer to Ch 17).
Thinking back on history's inventions, they are not without their flaws. That is why a new model has been released that corrects these flaws. The cycle continues and so on and so on until perfection is obtained. As a result, the older models are discarded for being viewed as obsolete.
