Character Introductions!

Szelo Devereaux

          Szelo Devereaux is a demon that came back to "haunt" his manor in the 1860's. Most paranormal investigators that visit his manor always get physical activity whether it be by pushing, head turning, or wrist grabbing. All seaming to be heading towards the door out. Even though he's a demon, he's not necessarily evil. Most people describe as malevolent but he just doesn't want unwanted people at his estate.

          His started family consists of Abygale(wife) and Vera(daughter). The only reason he had went to hell and became a demon is because he was an assassin. He didn't have much of a choice though. Abygale was terminally ill and needed medical help as soon as possible and he was trying to make more money for advanced medicine. After paying for all the medical treatment, Abygale looked better but she died in front of him while he was helping her out of bed. Out of pure rage he went to the Apothecary (pharmacy in the 1860's) and slaughtered the man who falsely advertised the medicine for Abygale. The pharmacist sold him the wrong type of medicine on purpose for one more expensive knowing well it was the wrong one. Szelo felt no remorse for the man since he was an assassin. Szelo was 39 when he died. Abygale was 27 when she passed away. Unfortunately when Vera was 7 she passed away a few months later as she was assassinated my a business rival of Szelo.

          Although Szelo was an assassin, he was also a very successful business man being the founder of many bars, hotels, and restaurants. He was one of the most wealthy men in all of the country followed by his rival, Laurence Henderson, owning a very successful hotel chain in the country. Out of pure spite and insult to injury, Laurence killed Vera a few months after Abygale was Szelo would go out of business in grief. I didn't necessarily work more so just make him even more successful because his family always encouraged him that no matter what he should continue with his business. That upset his Laurence. Twelve years later, somehow he managed to privately "talk" to Szelo in the basement of his hotel and knocked him out with a shovel. When Szelo woke up, he was loosely tied up in a chair with Laurence right in front of him holding a dagger. After Szelo asked what he wanted, Laurence gave him a short lecture on his motive and while he was doing so Szelo carefully got himself untied without Laurence noticing and while he was turned around, he got the same shovel he was knocked out with, he hit him in the back causing Laurence to fall on the the floor and that is where the fight between two rivals sparred to the death. 5 minutes later, Laurence had cuts and bruises all over his body, a black eye, and a dislocated jaw. While Szelo had cuts on his leg, a puncture wound in his stomach, bloody nose and was standing on in front Laurence on the floor crouching, about to collapse. With the last bit of strength Szelo had, he picked up the shovel and smashed Laurences head in and broke his skull. After using the rest of his strength on that last blow, along with Laurence, he collapsed. A maid that was looking for Szelo found Tham both dead at the end and it all went from there.

          After he was judged and sent to hell for his past actions of taking other lives, he spent a decade under there and ascended shortly after to haunt his manor. He saw Abygale and Vera playing and in tears ran to them. A century later, people had began to claim it was haunted, they weren't wrong. Many paranormal investigators always get something (reference to the fist paragraph) whether it be by pushing, head turning, or wrist grabbing. All seaming to be heading towards the door out. Since Vera was very young (6) she wasn't strong enough to hold her spirit form and the butler Jasper had gotten her a doll that she took almost everywhere and threw a fit when she didn't get to take it with her. When Vera couldn't maintain her spirit form anymore, she was presented two options. Either move on the heaven and meet her mother there in some decades but never see her father again or never be able to go into her spirit form again but use the doll and a conduit and stay in the manor with her family. So for now on everyone in the manor treats her Asia she were a spirit which she is but just not physically.
