Chapter Three

After I finish scruching my hair, I walk downstairs and see Jonah sitting on the couch watching tv. "I thought you were makign me food!" I say crossing my arms over my chest. "When your parents left, they said you can make it youself." He stands up and walks over to me. "Fine." I say opening the cuppord and grabbing the cereal. Jonah walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist from the back. He knows that gets me every single time he does it. Jonah buries his head in my neck and whispers, "I love you baby." I think he felt me smile because he said, "See, you already forgave me." He kissed me on the cheek. "Babe. We don't have much time left so just get a cereal bar." He says looking at his phone. I nod and put away the cereal and grabbing what Jonah told me. I finish fast, brush my teeth, then walk out the front door with my book bag and purse.

"We can take my car since we didn't get yours." I say throwing Jonah my keys. I get in the passanger seat and notice my mirrors are postioned weird. "Um were you in my car last night?" I question him. He shakes his head. "I was with you all night last night?" He says backing out of the driveway after fixing the mirrors back. "Oh yeah thats right. Well someone was in my car because its still cold in here" It is close to the end of the school year. But usually I just have the windows down not the air on. I continue, "...and I never have the air on." I am actually really worried. I've been suspicious lately because my dad has been coming home for the past few weeks and has been in his office every night. I try to tell myself he's not cheating on mom but I can't be too sure. "Babe don't worry about it. Everythings fine." Jonah pulls me in for a kiss at a red light. We break away both smiling. "Your bruise is looking better" I say rubbing his arm lightly. He pulls his arm in nervously. "Babe...you know your in a better place now." I grab his hand and squeeze. "I know baby but..." He trails off. "But what?" I say. "I don't know. I just don't want people talking about it or you" He says keeping his eyes on the road. He's actually a really good driver. You really wouldn't think so when you meet him but he is. "They won't baby. Nobody will know you're staying with me. I promise." I promise him. Because knowing my school and the people in it, rumours will start that we're having sex every night and shit like that. "Good because knowing Mary she'll tell the whole fucking world" 

We pull into the school parking lot and there's a lot of cars here as usual. We close the car doors and walk into the cafeteria where we go until the entry bell rings. "Do not loose my keys." I say because he looses everything of mine. I see Taylor and Christina. I kiss Jonah and walk over to them. "Hey beautifuls" I say sitting down next to them. "How's you and Jonah?" Christina says elbowing me. "Pretty good. We got in a fight last night though." I trail off. "About what?" Taylor asks. "Well he was in a bad mood last night so I said, 'Talk to me when you're in a good mood" and walked into my bedroom." Shit. Shit shit shit. I just gave a clue that he was staying with me. "Wait. Why was he at your house..?" Christina asked. "Promise not to tell anyone?" I come in closer so I'm at a whisper. They both nod. "Jonah's living with me for a while. But don't tell a single soul!" I say pointed at both of them. "Oh my god. Do you guys sleep together? Not like sex but like fall asleep together?" Taylor butts in talking really fast. "Ok. Calm down! And last night was the first night but yes we did." I say smiling and glancing at Jonah. "Awh." They both say. The bell rings and we head to first period.

I'm at my locker at the end of the day and I feel arms wrap around my waist and a head burying into my neck. "Hi baby" Jonah says. I slam my locker closed and grab his hand. "Hi boo" His hands are always so warm compared to mine. "You ready for the gym?" He says flexing. "You're such a show off. And yes I am." I say back-handing him in the chest. "Only for you princess" He says kissing my cheek. He is so cute sometimes. I love him. I open the car down and step inside. We head back to my house so we can get dressed.

I take the keys from Jonah and unlock the door. I hear noises..."Babe. Listen" I whisper to Jonah. It sounds like...sex noises! I immediately check my dads office. Nope not there. I walk down the hall and the door is cracked open. I peek inside to find my dad have sex with the neighbor Mrs. Kelly!! MY SCIENCE TEACHER. Man I didn't realize she was that skinny..? SHUT UP DANIELLE! YOU JUST WITNESSED YOUR OWN FATHER HAVING SEX WITH YOUR TEACHER. I burst into tears and slide down the wall until I reach the floor. Jonah runs up to me and and hugs me so I don't make any noise. He picks me up by thighs so my legs are wrapped around his waist. Jonah takes me into his room and puts me on the bed. "How could he!? Cheat on my mom!? With Mrs. Kelly!" Tears are pouring down my face as I run and shut the door. I can't stand hearing sex noises unless its me and Jonah's. I'm sure my mascara is running down my face. Jonah is pacing back and forth. He comes and makes us both lay down. I sob into his shirt. "How bout you change your shirt so I don't ruin this one" I say tugging on his shirt. Jonah pulls off his shirt leaving him shirtless. "Or just stay like that" I say chuckling. He giggles and lays back down. "If we ever get married, which I'm hoping we will, I will never do that to you Danielle." Jonah says playing with my wavy hair. "I sure hope we do too" I say bringing my lips up to his. He wipes away my tears and kisses my forehead. All I can think about is Jaret. My older brother who's in the army. He used to comfort me when mom and dad would fight. Its been so hard without him. I miss him so much. I start sobbing into Jonah's chest. "Shhh..Everything will be okay babe." He comforts me just like Jaret did when we were younger. "I love you Danielle." Jonah tells me this all the time. "I love you too Jonah" And we soon we dose off.
