Danny and Mary-Beth were on their way to Saint Denis to get on a boat and sail to a place where they could find sanctuary.

They rode aimlessly through the early hours of the evening, Abercrombe guided them along the dusty path towards the swamps. Distant sounds of birds chirping and other such ambience was blocked out as neither dared utter a word since they departed from Arthur's good company.

Abercrombe galloped along planks on the way towards Saint Denis. As the magnificent horse guided them into town, Danny regained control and directed the horse to the Saint Denis stables, where he hoped to sell his horse into better hands.

Danny fixed his hat comfortably on his head as both he and Mary-Beth dismounted. While he took care of selling his horse, she waited patiently outside, holding their luggage.

A young man about Sky's age swept the footpath outside of the stables when he gradually grew closer and closer to Mary-Beth. When the stableboy found his voice, he spoke down to Mary-Beth as he blatantly bossed her to leave the property. The brunette eyed the stablehand watchfully as she feigned innocence whilst attempting to lure him closer to her with the intention to rob him blind.

It was just her nature to do such things, given how good of a pickpocket she was.

Once Danny finished his business inside the stables, he caught Mary-Beth softening up to the stableboy. At first, he was confused as to what she was playing at, until he caught her hand swiftly pinching the worker's wallet out of the back pocket of his pants. Mary-Beth winked at the worker before she walked off in the general direction towards the post office while Danny chased after her at a calm pace.

They walked together, arms linked together as they headed to the post office for a ticket out of Saint Denis. No arousal of suspicion threatened the two outlaws of law enforcements as they casually strolled along the sidewalk.

The clerk working behind the counter of the post office was present when the young couple arrived.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The clerk spoke politely.

"Any boats available to take my wife and I to New York? San Francisco? Brooklyn? Philadelphia?" Danny asked, straightforward and concisely.

The ticket master looked at his logbook and quickly scanned for any vacancies.

"Hmmm. I've got two available for you for Australia, but the earliest is tomorrow at eight."

"Shit. Okay, fine. We'll take it."

"That'll be fifty dollars."

Danny exhaled sharply and paid for the two boat tickets.

Once they were in his possession, Danny and Mary-Beth then wandered the streets to a hotel where they could stay overnight. One thing he noticed was how tightly Mary-Beth clung onto his arm. It was almost as if her nerves had gone crazy and Danny was the only person that could soothe her nerves. As the cold air took effect on them, they walked a little faster to the hotel.

On their way up to the hotel, they happened to pass by the Théâtre Râleur. Danny took interest and proposed that they go and see a show.

"I don't know, Danny." Mary-Beth said hesitantly.

"Oh, come on. How often do you get to see these sorts of things? You've never even seen one before, have you?" Danny countered teasingly.

Mary-Beth rolled her eyes and shook her head, a light exhale escaped her mouth as she indulged her lover and agreed. An excited Danny Matthews grabbed his future wife's hand and dragged her inside the theatre, where they purchased a ticket for just two dollars.
