“Look at Emily, always with Mr. Pittman, but I have nothing to do with it because she is beautiful and flawless. She is perfect for Mr. Pittman, who is handsome and intelligent," said the new employee. “What are you talking about?" replied the old employee. "Emily is Mr. Pittman’s secretary. That is why they are always together." "Is that so?" Ahaha! "I thought they had something," said the other worker.
Emily and Mr. Pittman entered the office. Both starts working. "Sir, here are the papers you need to sign, including Mr. Quezon’s contract,"  said Emily. Mr. Pittman replied, "Alright, just put it there, and I'll sign it. Before anything else, what is my schedule for today?" Emily immediately replied while looking at the planner. "Today, you have a meeting with Team 4 of the Marketing department. In addition to that, you also have a meeting with Mr. Clarkson and his wife, regarding the company collaboration with them." "Is that all?" Emily nodded.
"Let's get this started," said Mr. Pittman. While arranging papers, Mr. Pittman makes Emily stare at him because she has a long crush on him. She could not admit it because she knew she had no chance with him. She could not even imagine that her boss would notice her as a woman, not as a secretary because she was just an employee.
The whole day was busy for both. They were not able to eat lunch properly because they had to prepare for the presentation after lunch.
It's already 5 PM; meetings and other activities for the day were done and Emily could go home early. Before she went home, Mr. Pittman said, "You are reliable, Emily, and I finished my work smoothly today. Thank you." He hugged Emily to show his gratitude because she had been working with him for almost five years. She immediately pushed him because her heart beats so fast, and she does not want him to notice it. "Emily, are you okay? You are blushing," said Mr. Pittman. "I'm fine. It's just so hot, haha," Emily said, while fanning herself.
"Oh! It’s already five, sir. I will be late for the bus, and it’s hard to catch another one, so goodbye, sir. Take care and thank you." "Wait, since we finished our tasks early, why don’t you ride in my car, and I’ll drop you home? Just tell my driver your address. You said it’s not easy to catch a bus at night, so let's go." Emily rejected her boss. "No, sir, I’m fine." "Emily, I insist. It’s just a way of saying thank you for all your effort for the day". She couldn't help but agree. While traveling, they still talked about work.
After 45 minutes, the car stopped in front of Emily’s house. She thanked him and said goodbye then the boss left. She immediately took a shower and went straight to bed. She couldn't sleep thinking about being hugged by Mr. Pittman.
"Sir, I have something to confess to you. I want you, sir." "Really? Emily? Because I want you too." Emily suddenly woke up and said, "AH! It's just a dream. Hey, what time is it?" Emily looked at the clock and saw that she was late, so she immediately ran to the bathroom and immediately brushed her teeth. She took the sandwich from the fridge and warmed it up. She just put it in her bag because she is going to be late for work. She rushes to the bus stop and immediately boards it.
When she got to the office entrance, she saw a beggar begging for food. She felt sorry for herself and did not think twice about giving her sandwich to the beggar. "My sandwich is yours," she said. "Really? Thank you very much. You are the only person who helped me?" The beggar answered. Emily just smiled and said goodbye to the beggar because she would be late for work. When she entered the office,  Mr. Pittman had been waiting for her. "You're 45 minutes and 16 seconds late, Ms. Emily." "Sorry, sir, I'm late," Emily replied with a sad face. "Alright, I'll let it go, but next time you're late, you'll have a deduction from your salary. Do you understand?" Emily nodded and felt sorry for what she did. "Before anything else, have you eaten already?"
Mr. Pittman asked.  "Ah...eh...not yet, sir," Emily replied. "Let's have breakfast together. I know a good restaurant. Don't even think about rejecting it," said Mr. Pittman. Emily did nothing but accompany her boss for breakfast.
Emily was surprised at the restaurant where Mr. Pittman wanted to eat and said, "Mr. Pittman, why are we here? Isn't the food here expensive?" Mr. Pittman replied, "To answer your question, we are here to have breakfast. I have no problem with the price. Just order whatever you want for breakfast." Emily went to the menu and looked for something else. Emily always chooses the cheaper one, and the boss gets mad at her. "Don't choose that. Choose this one or that one. Do you think you will be satisfied?" Emily replied, "But sir, I don't want them because your choice is expensive. It's fine with me to eat this."
Mr. Pittman has placed his orders with the waiter.  He did not order Emily's food of choice, but he replaced it with a delicious and expensive one. Emily couldn't believe it and told her boss, whispering, "Sir, that's not what I ordered; it's something else, and the one you ordered is expensive." "Just eat what I chose for you," said Mr. Pittman. The food arrived, and they started eating.
After they ate, they returned to the office and started to get busy. Mr. Pittman orders Emily to get him some coffee. Emily immediately acted on it and went to a nearby coffee shop.
At the coffee shop, she saw an old friend. His name is Edward. He is a handsome, tall, and kind man. Emily greeted him, and he was surprised by Emily. Edward said, "Is that you, Emily? You haven't changed, and you're still beautiful." "You always flatter me until now, haha. How are you?" Emily replied. "I'm fine. I now own E.W. Company." Edward said. "Wow! You've come a long way. I knew you would be that successful," Emily replied. She suddenly remembered Mr. Pittman's choice of coffee. He said goodbye to Edward and said, "I have to go back to work. My boss has been waiting for his coffee. See you again, Edward." "Wait, your number!" Edward said it loudly. Edward wanted to get Emily's number, but she immediately left.
Emily has returned to the office. When she entered the office, she saw Mr. Pittman had fallen asleep leaning on the table. She carefully put the coffee on the table, so as not to disturb him.  She looked closer at him and stared at his face. She wanted to touch his face, but she stopped herself and decided to leave, but Mr. Pittman grabbed her hand and said, "Don't go. Stay here." Emily was surprised and said, "Sir, I have something to take care of, so, if possible, please let go of my hand." Suddenly, the voice of  Mr. Pittman was heard. "Emily, you are already here. What takes you so long." Then Emily realized that she was dreaming again. Sorry, sir, there was a long queue in the coffee shop. Then, she immediately ran to the restroom, faced the mirror, and talked to herself. “What is happening to me? I’m always dreaming of something that will never happen. But what if he also likes me.” She slapped her face and said, “Emily wake-up.” Then she washed her hands.
After long hours working in the office, Mr. Pittman told Emily to go home early. “But sir, I have more things to do," Emily replied. "Don't mind them. Just go home, before I change my mind. Emily was happy and repeatedly thanked Mr. Pittman.
She went home, showered immediately, and got dressed. While she was getting dressed, someone knocked at the door. She was surprised. Mrs. Williams, her mother, and Mr. Williams, his father, were at the doorsteps. Her parents visited her and brought some food. "Surprise! How are you? Are you still, okay? Look! We brought you your favorite teokbokki and fishcake." Her mother said it with a happy face. Emily was so happy. "Mom, why are you here? "It's late, and you brought fishcakes and teokbokki for me? You don't need to pamper me anymore."
"We just want to visit you because you're always busy with work. I thought you might not be eating well. So, your dad and I decided to visit you and bring you your favorite." Emily's mother answered. "Thank you, mom and dad," she said. She hugged both of her parents.
"Let's eat now; you might be hungry too," said Mrs. Williams. They started to eat, and while eating, they talked like a happy family. In the middle of their conversation, Emily's mother suddenly asked a question.
"Emily, do you have a boyfriend? If you do, we want to know him personally." Emily was surprised by her mother's question. "Mom, why are you asking me that? Well, it's not my priority because I'm still busy at work." Emily replied. "Honey, why not call him immediately?" said Emily's father. "Emily will be away from us, and then what if they get married? She will be even busier. Eh, honey, what if her fiancée can't take care of our daughter? Honey, what if?"
Mrs. Williams hit Mr. Williams in the back and became angry. “WHY WOULD YOU THINK LIKE THAT? I SAID, BOYFRIEND! WHY DOES THAT END IN MARRIAGE? WHEN OUR DAUGHTER GETS MARRIED, SHE WILL, OF COURSE, CHOOSE A GOOD MAN AND THE ONE WHO CAN TAKE CARE OF HER!" her mother angrily said. Emily just laughed at her mom and dad. "Honey sorry I was wrong. You are right that our daughter will not get married if he is not truly loved. Forgive me, honey,” Mr. Williams hugged his wife, and Mrs. Williams gradually calmed down. Mr. Williams kissed her wife on the cheek, and she smiled and kissed him back.
After Emily's parents left, she immediately brushed her teeth and went straight to bed. Emily couldn't sleep, so she left the house and went for a walk-in a nearby park.
He saw a person sitting on a bench and realized that it was Mr. Pittman. Mr. Pittman saw Emily too and he immediately approached her. "Emily, is that you? What a coincidence. I didn't expect you to be here at this hour.” Mr. Pittman said. Emily replied, "Is that you, sir. That's why you looked familiar. What are you doing here?" Oh, I always come here because this is where I last saw the girl who comforted me many years ago. She promised me that she marries me. I hope to see her because I can feel her presence when I come here." Mr. Pittman replied.
Emily suddenly felt sad because Mr. Pittman was looking for someone else. He thinks someone else has captured Mr. Pittman's heart." Ahh, maybe she's just around here. Don't lose hope because you will find her soon." Emily said. Mr. Pittman's feelings changed after hearing what Emily said. He seemed suddenly saddened and regretted saying that. He asks Emily, "You, why are you here? It's late and I know people are sleeping currently.” Emily answered and said, "I can't sleep, that's why I'm here, let's walk first and maybe I'll get sleepy." They talked, while walking. After two hours, Mr. Pittman looked at his watch and noticed it was already twelve, so they decided to go home and rest. They say goodnight to each other. Emily went home and fell asleep peacefully.
Saturday morning, Emily received a phone call, and it turned out to be Edward. Emily asked how he got her number and found out that Edward had his assistant look it up, so he got Emily's number. Edward invited Emily. She accepted his invitation, then took a shower and got ready. They met at a coffee shop near where Emily worked. They talked and said hello. After talking inside the cafe, Edward took Emily home. When Emily got out of Edward's car, she unexpectedly tripped, and Mr. Pittman saw it. He felt jealous. That's why he didn't hesitate to approach Emily and Edward. Emily was surprised by Mr. Pittman because he immediately pulled Emily away from Edward.
"What are you doing, and why are you holding Emily? And you, Emily, why did you end up with someone like him?" asked Mr. Pitman.
“Sir! Why are you here? I'm sorry, I should introduce my friend to you first. Sir, meet Edward. He has been my friend since high school. Edward, this is Mr. Pittman, the CEO of VH Company, and my boss at work.” Mr. Pittman and Edward stared at each other for a long time. The two came to answer and said, "What if I'm with Emily? You're just his boss and I'm his friend." Edward said. “Yes, you're a friend, but I've been Emily's boss for a long time, so I'm responsible for her because she’s, my secretary." Mr. Pittman replied. Emily was surprised by Mr. Pittman's words and was shocked. She gradually became uncomfortable, so she told Edward to go home. Then, she spoke to Mr. Pittman. "Sir, do you and Edward know each other?" The boss replied, "Yes, because he is the rival of the VH company. Emily, I don't want to see you go with that man." Emily noticed that he seemed jealous of Edward. She did not want to tell him about her observation, because he might get angry, then she told him, "Sir, thank you for your concern, but please believe me, Edward is a good person, and he is my true friend." He calms down, but there is a strange feeling within him. Lately, he noticed that he always gets angry or jealous when he sees Emily talking with other man, even his guard.
He was confused about whether he should tell Emily his feelings or not.
