I wake up against Jack's comfortable body once again. This is something I can get used to. I just lay there, soaking in the moment. I love these quiet moments with Jack, before we fall asleep, in the car, right when we wake up, they're the best.

After about ten minutes, I feel Jack's body moving beside mine. "Good morning," he says yawning. "Morning Jacky," I reply softly. We just lay in each other's arms doing whatever on our phones. That is until Luke burts in without warning. "Morning," he says with a little too much energy for 9am. "Luke! When we lived at home I told you that you can't just come in like that. That still goes, maybe even more than it did before." Jack scolds his brother. "Oh yeah, my bad. What are the plans for today?" "For you, nothing. For me and Zo, we're going on a date." "We are?" I ask him. "Yeah, we are," he replies with a smile on his face. "You guys are disgusting," Luke says leaving our room. Wait, did I just call it our room? Our room. That has a nice ring to it.

"Do you have any idea what this date is?" I ask Luke. "Jack's been really secretive about it." "No idea," Luke responds, "but maybe he's finally gonna ask you to he his girl." His girl. God I wish.

Luke and I have been alone at home. Not home, Jack's place. I can't keep doing this. Anyway, we've been all alone at Jack's place since Jack left around twenty minutes after he said we were going on a date. I don't know if it has to do with the date, hockey or anything else. All Jack told me is to be ready at 1.

Luke and I have gotten close, it's only been a day but I have a good feeling that this friendship is going to be a good one. Speaking of friends, I haven't seen Bri in a month. She does go to college so, it does get like this sometimes. I just miss her.

Too many things are going on in my head right now, this date, moving in, Bri. I just need to get ready and get my mind out of a bad place.

Ive just gotten out of Jack's shower and I'm going to wear a cute white summer dress. I put it on and start working on my hair and makeup. I went for a simple look.

When I check the time on my phone, it says 12:45 so, I text Jack.

——

me: where are you??

jacky: are you ready?

me: yes
me: but i asked where you are

jacky: that doesn't matter
jacky: coming to pick you up rn
jacky: come outside in ten

me: will do

After waiting the ten minutes, I said bye to Luke and headed downstairs. When I got there, I saw Jack pulling into the car park. "Hey there, pretty girl," Jack says. "Hey," I respond getting in. "Where are we going?" I ask him. "Well, you'll see," he says smirking to himself. He places his hand on my inner thigh and I don't move.

The more we drive, the more I wonder where we're going. That is until I see something from the distance. A ferris wheel. "Are we going to a fun fair?" I ask him. "Yes, we are," he replies proudly. "I can't wait!" I squeal sounding like a child.

When we get there, we get parking almost straight away. "Come on, let's go," Jack says opening my door for me. He takes my hand in his and we walk towards the entrance. This is everything I could wish for in a date. It's loud but it's a fun loud. The noise is of children enjoying themselves. I love it. I love him. No I can't say that. We're not even dating.

"Where do you want to go first?" I ask him. "I'll go anywhere as long as I'm with you," he responds looking in my eyes. Jack does things to me that no one else can do. He gives me butterflies no matter how long I've known him, he always makes me feel noticed and I've never felt unloved in his presence. I want him to be mine.

After a fun afternoon of rides and food, the sun is slowly starting to go down. Jack and I are simply walking around. We've been on every ride, some even twice but, I don't want to leave. Not after such a good day.

"Jacky, I don't want to leave. I could stay in this moment forever," I say to him. "Zo, I know but l, I have one more surprise for you." "Really?" "Yes, come on," he say's grabbing my arm.

As we walk towards the slowly setting sun, I take in the moment. I'm with the person that makes me the happiest which makes me even happier. I could spend the rest of my life with him and I would never get bored.

We inch closer and closer to the beach and then I say, "Jack, what are we doing at the beach?" "You'll see." We walk from one end of the beach and are slowly getting closer to the other when I realise something in the sand. I don't mention it to Jack but, I think he's noticed it too.

As we get closer, I see that it's candles and roses layed out in a heart shape. "Jack, I think we should go, I don't want to ruin someone's moment," I tell him. "It doesn't matter, come on." Thats when I noticed that it might be for us.

"Jack," I tell him, "tell me you didn't." "I don't know what you're talking about," he says with the biggest grin on his face. He hold my hard tighter as we walk towards the candle lit heart in the sunset.

When we get to the heart, I notice that in the sand is says 'mine?'. "Zoey, when I'm with you, I'm the happiest, you make me do the right things and I can't imagine what I would be like of I didn't meet you that day after my match." I'm already starting to tear up at this point. "Will you be mine?" He asks looking at me hopefully. "Yes Jack," I say nodding my head. "Of course I will."
