I lightly tightened my grip on Evie's hand, rubbing the back of it a little more intensely.  I could tell her breathing was getting shallower; however, she was keeping herself composed.  I found that highly attractive.  I regarded her out of the corner of my eye as we drove away from the invitation ceremony, trying to decide if she was happy to be selected specially by me.

The radio had been playing softly in the background.  The song changed and Evie gasped and squeezed my hand.  "Turn this up, please! I love this song!"  I smirked and nodded towards the driver, who turned up the volume for us.

I groaned as I heard the newest Taylor Swift single come on.  The gorgeous woman next to me however quickly changed my mind.  I heard a beautiful voice singing along and looked over at her.  Her eyes were closed, and she was completely caught in the moment all by herself.  "When the silence came we were shaking blind and hazy, how the hell did we lose sight of us again..."

I was mesmerized by her in so many ways.  Her voice held a natural vibrato and had a slight hum to it.  As the song came to an end, Evie opened her eyes and looked over at me.  "Don't tell me you don't know Taylor Swift."  It was not a question, more like an accusatory statement.

"Of course I know Taylor Swift, I just don't care for her.  I could listen to you sing her music, though."

Evie scoffed and rolled her eyes, which just brought another chuckle to my lips.  I reached into the pocket of the seat in front of me and pulled out my stash of freshly ground bud, along with rolling papers.  I gave a quick side-eyed glance to Evie, who seemed to not be bothered by what i was doing.

"Here, let me."  Within a mere minute there was a freshly rolled joint in my lap.  I picked it up to inspect it.  It was rolled tightly, with not rip in sight.  I was impressed.

I lit the end and took a long drag before turning slightly towards her.  "Where did you learn to do that, bella?"

Evie smirked and took the joint from my hand.  I watched as her small lips closed around the tip of it and she inhaled deeply.  She quickly leaned into me and put her lips to mine, sharing her delectable taste with me as she released the smoke into my mouth before quickly pulling away.  A dark blush was starting to form on her pale skin.

"I-I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me."  I didn't know what had come over her either, but more importantly, I didn't know why it didn't bother me.  My mouth was longing to feel her lips again.  My heart was beating fast and I could feel a flush rushing up my face.

Thankfully, I was saved by our arrival.  "Come, bella.  Let me show you to your room so you can relax before the gala begins."

The driver opened my door and I quickly rushed around the back of the vehicle to open Evie's.  The other girls would already be here, hopefully preparing for the gala.  Generally, the girls shared a room, but I didn't want that for Evie.  On the drive here I messaged Ana telling her to prepare the room joint with mine for her.  She expressed her concern, but I insisted. I didn't know why, but I needed Evie close to me.
