A small, almost unrepairable hut, inside lay an old woman holding onto a toddler. The woman and the child looked very thin and malnourished because why not the woman's son and daughter-in-law has been missing for 5 days now.

" Dadi when is papa-ma coming, I'm hungry." "They will come soon my dear, after all they have went to fetch food for you." "But dadi they are never this late and I'm so hungry dadi.""Wait a minute dear dadi will go and find something for you. "Said the weak old woman getting up from the floor. Even though she knew that there won't be even a single grain of rice in the house, she still searched, in the hopes that she might find something that'd be able to fill even a little bit of her dear grandson.

But who will tell her that her both son and daughter-in-law was never going to return. Well, this isn't the first-time situation like this has happened in Ananthapurvas. This wasn't the first family in the kingdom which was waiting eagerly for their family members to come back. And this wasn't the first time someone knew about the bitter and heart wrenching truth that their people dear to them leaving them forever, or more like leaving for their afterlife.

"Devangi ji!, Devangi ji!" called out the old woman's young neighbor, running. "What happened Shanku why do you look panicked. "Asked the old woman confusion visible on her face." Well D-Devangi j-ji, w-well, wel-well." stuttered the girl." Why are you stuttering Shanku." "Devangi ji, Im really sorry to say and Im deeply sorry that I have to deliver the heart-breaking news. "What is it Shanku. Is it something about my children? , what happened to them? , are they fine? when are they coming back? the old woman asked a million questions altogether in one breath.

"D-Dev-Devangi ji actually, actually, there is no good way in saying this b-but, th-they ar-are no more in the mortal world." Shocking was just an understatement for the poor old lady. Her expression clearly said her whole world shook; she looked pale but with her facial expression cold with wide eyes slowly starting to brim with tears, her lips trembling from the emotional turbulence but her whole-body stiff as a stick. Soon enough her knees gave up and she fell to the floor after hearing the tragic news of her children.

Soon enough she started wailing in pain, of losing her beloved children, her son whom she took care putting her heart and soul all the 26 years, her daughter-in-law who she considered more like the daughter she never had left them, the children who gave her the luck to be a grandma by giving her a beautiful baby boy was no dead and she couldn't even see the body of them before she left. At that moment it striked her, her grandson who wasn't even 5 was already orphan without parents to take care of. She didn't have a long life to take care of her grandson, who will take care of him, who will feed him, who will teach him, his whole life was ruined before even starting his life. This thought made her cry even more.

Hearing all the commotion the poor toddler unknown of the fact that his papa-ma was no more came to the backyard to find his dadi crying on the floor and beside her his neighbor Shanku di consoling. Being the innocent boy, he asked " Dadi why are you crying? are you crying because if there is no food? if there is no food don't worry its fine, please don't cry. Your tears are even more precious to me than the food." hearing the toddler's innocent words made her even more cry. How was she going to explain what happened to his ma-papa, how was she going to raise such an innocent soul in this cruel world. She hugged her dear grandson tight and caressed back of his head " Don't worry kanna, dadi is here for you, Don't worry. "she said as she continued to caress his hair.
