The fire seemed to make the sky go red. Thick smoke filled the air. The van was full of Gems. Their hands were bound by hand cuffs. They all were to weak to fight the humans.

"Are these the only Gems in Chicago?" a human said with on his back said to the other.

"Yes, all the others did in the riots." The other said

Both of the men laughed as they closed the closed the back doors of the van. The men climbed in front of the van and drove off to The Camp. They started to head south of Chicago to Springfield. The tires screeched as the van speeded up past the empty, and rusty cars. One of the men coughed in his hand and wiped it on his torn pants. He looked out the window at the fire in chicago, and surrounding towns. He thought of all the family who were killed by the Gems. His wife was killed in the explosion of the Willis Tower, three months ago, caused by the Gems. How culd he forgive their race. They killed many people throughout North America. A tear came from his eye, and dropped to his hand. His sniffed loudly.

"Dude, are you crying?" The other man asked.

"No!"

"Dude, it'smoray to cry. If my wife died I would cry too."

The drive went silent after that conversation. The sun went down and stars guided the van, through the huge state of Illinois until they came to a screeching halt in Springfield. Huge walls bordered the capital. With men guarding it, with their guns ready.

"Can we pass?" the man said.

"What is your business here?" the guard replied

"We have Gems"

The guard smiled and turned around and pushed a lever, opening the wall. They were in The Camp
