The days went past so fast, the end of the term was approaching, and exams were round the corner. The boys took a break from dance and were mugging together at the library. When walking home, Gyuvin suggested to change their study place to a café that was recommended by his classmate Tina, "It's a little far but I heard they gave student discounts and free flow drinks for students! The girls in my class said the spicy drumettes were the best! I have to try it!" gushed Gyuvin enthusiastically as he loved to snack. Ricky slapped his shoulder hard, "Are you sure it's not because you want to watch pretty girls at the café?" Gyuvin laughed hysterically, "What's the point, girls only look at you anyways." Ricky shrugged, "True that, I'm young and rich, tall and handsome, charisma boss baby RICKY!". Hao shook his head and walked faster, wanting to put a distance between them. He was so tired and just wanted to shower and sleep when he reached home.
The next day at school, Hao and Phanbin screwed up the biology experiment and had to stay back to redo the assignment as they misinterpreted the professor's instructions. Hao laughed and texted Ricky to go ahead to the café first and send him the address; he'll find his way there himself.
Hao was perspiring, he and Phanbin took longer than he expected to complete the assignment. He raced to the location as fast as he could. Unfortunately, he got lost and was increasingly frustrated that he had to walk around in the hot sun looking for the café as both Ricky and Gyuvin didn't pick up his calls. Bin was whistling to himself as he watered the plants outside his mom's café porch with a hose. He was startled when the phone rang in his pocket and his hose slipped. Hao yelped at the sudden cold stream of water falling on him from the hose. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry." Bin gushed and raced down the 3 little porch steps to Hao after turning off the hose. Bin used the inner side of his long sleeves to dab on Hao's face and apologized profusely. Hao was not used to strangers and he took a step back. "It's fine, I'm fine." Hao tried to resist but Bin dragged up to the second floor of the café. "We live here, my mom's the owner. Let me get you a dry top." Hao was speechless and stared wide-eyed at Bin's black sweater in his hands while Bin dabbed a towel on his neck gently. To be honest he wasn't comfortable to change into someone else' clothes and to make it worse, Bin didn't seem to be leaving the bedroom. Bin nodded encouragingly at Hao, "Go on. It'll be more comfortable to change into something dry." Hao struggled internally, he was sticky from walking around in the hot sun and it was true that he'll be more comfortable changing as he still needed to look for Ricky for their study session. Hao turned his back to Bin and removed his wet shirt. He shivered when he felt Bin wiping his back with the towel. Bin's eyes twinkled when he saw Hao's small waist. He was captivated by Hao's pretty features when he first saw him at the bottom of the café stairs. Hao sneezed and quickly put on Bin's sweater, he stepped away from Bin and asked politely for the towel, "I'll do it myself, thanks." Bin passed the towel to him, "Ok, I'll go downstairs to make you a hot drink. Take your time." Hao heaved a sigh of relief when Bin closed the bedroom door. The design was similar to his own bedroom, simplistic design but homey and warm. While walking to the toilet to put the towel into the laundry bin, Hao spotted a keyboard and thought to himself, "Oh he can play the keyboard too." It didn't feel right to invade others' privacy, so Hao quickly exited Bin's bedroom. As he walked down the stairs and looked around for Bin, he spotted his two devilish friends at one of the side tables. Hao stormed towards them and questioned, "Here you are, why didn't you pick up my calls?!" Gyuvin cupped Hao's face when he realised Hao was pouting while Ricky pulled him down to sit beside him. Hao frowned and turned his cheek away when Gyuvin tried to feed him a spicy drumette. Bin appeared at their table with a hot chocolate and Hao's sling bag. "It's on the house, let me know if you want anything else on the menu. I'm Bin by the way, what's your name?" Hao waved both his hands at Bin and wanted to reject but Ricky answered for him, "His name is Hao hao! Can we have more food please, he must be so hungry! Look at his angry face. Hahaha!" Hao hit Ricky's arm, "You know that's not the reason!" Gyuvin checked his phone, "Drat. I forgot to turn on the portable charger, it's completely flat now. I'm sorry Hao, we missed your calls. Ricky's phone is fine though, he didn't pick up as he was busy flirting with some girls that came up to our table just now." Hao crossed his arms and looked side eyed at Ricky. Bin laughed and left the table to fetch some toast and sandwiches for them. Hao took a deep breath and inhaled the woody scent of Bin's sweater. He couldn't concentrate on his studies initially as he was distracted by the surprisingly nice smell of the fabric softener on Bin's clothes. Hao patted his face with both palms and tried to focus on the book in front of him. Soon he was accustomed to Bin's scent and calmed down to focus on his revision. From time to time, Bin watched Hao from behind the counter when he was not serving customers. He's cute, Bin thought to himself and chuckled.
