Tam POV

Tam was styling his hair for Biana's when there was a knock on his door. He expected Lihn or Wylie but was surprised to see Biana. Tam was planning a surprise visit, so she didn't know he would go there.

"Um-I-come in" He stammered.

She wore a wispy lilac dress that showed off her shoulders and collarbone. She sat on the very edge of Tam's bed, her lavender heels nervously tapping the floor. He also noticed how tightly her hands were clasped together.

Not a good sign.

"Is something wrong?" He asked, studying her elegant braid that reached her waist. Each flower twisted into her braid was a different shade of purple.

"Sort of," she mumbled, staring at her feet.

"It's ok" Tam promised, "You can tell me anything."

"That's very sweet Tam, but you won't like this," she said, avoiding his eyes.

He observed her expression, sad, confused, worried, and scared.

"Is it about me?" He asked.

"yes and no." was her answer.

"Just tell me!" He begged, "Please!"

Bianna sighed, "Alright, but please don't be mad at me."

"I would never!" Tam promised.

"I'm a councilor, I replaced Ramira as the council's vanisher."

"What?" He shouted, stunned. "But that means..." Tam trailed off because she knew what that meant.

"Did you have time to consider?" He demanded to know.

"Yes," She reluctantly admitted.

"For how long?" He asked.

"A week," she whispered.

"Why didn't you talk about this with me? Why didn't you say anything?" Tam shouted.

She winced, "Because I knew this would be your reaction, I knew you would be angry."

"Well of course I'm angry!" He yelled, "This ruins everything."  For a second it looked like she was going to cry and Tam almost felt sorry, but then she snapped "This doesn't ruin anything! It just changes... things for us, but it will help this world!"

"Like the council ever helped!" Tam barked out a laugh.

"They changed Tam!" She argued.

He turned away, whispering "I thought we mattered, I thought you would put us before fame." Tam felt tears prick his eyes and didn't want her to see so ordered: "Leave."

 "But-" she started.

"JUST LEAVE!" He snapped.

Before she exited Tam heard a small sob, and once the door shut he jumped onto his bed curling into a ball under the blankets. He was never going to be happy again, and he wasn't being dramatic.
