Klaus sat at the bar, drinking away his problems, at 11am on a Tuesday. His plans to take over the city had failed once again. Marcel has built an empire so big, even Klaus couldn't take it down. And worse of all, Marcel had the respect of the people, something Klaus has wanted but didn't know how to achieve. He had always thought that instilling fear would make those loyal to him.
There was one person who respected him, well, at least he believed she did.
It had been a long time since they last spoke. Physically, was when Katerina was on her death bed, and he came to 'gloat over ger corpse to be' as Caroline had poetically put it. After that, they had messages going back and forth. And a couple phone calls.
They didn't want to admit it, but they loved hearing each other talk. And it all faded towards graduation. Caroline said she was a little busy and had to take some time off. Which put him in a sour mood, but he respected her wishes.
Now in his moment of defeat, he'd love nothing more than to hear her voice.
Incoming call *Miss Mystic Falls*
Klaus smiled instantly at the name, and immediately picked up.
"Hello love" all his previous thoughts had disappeared.
"Klaus" her soft voice echoing into his tipsy mind.
"How lovely it is to hear your voice after sooo long. I do miss our phone calls."
"Well today's your lucky day. I'm taking a break from mystic falls, so I have all the time in the world to talk to you."
"Oh, I'm sooo glad. You know, I still hold that one way ticket to New Orleans, it has your name on it" he smiled.
"No need for that" she laughed.
"Oh come onnnn, I could show you all my favourite places, all the music, food, art and culture."
"I meant, no need for the ticket......because I'm already here" she smiled through the phone.
"What?" he asked, shocked that this was happening.
"Oh my God, just turn around!" she laughed.
He could hear her, she was here. In New Orleans. To see him. For a second he thought he was too drunk. But when she walked up to him and grabbed his hand, he knew this was real.
"Come on. You going to show me around or what?" she smiled.
