It was a bad day.

Every now and then. Usually once a week you found yourself doing way too much for way too many days in a row. The following days would be met with recovery until the vicious cycle of healthism attacked again.

But today was bad, bad. Harvey knew as much when you missed an appointment. You were often late. But you never missed an appointment.

He worried about the way you still found ways down into the mines with everyone declaring them off limits to you. What if you had fallen? Or yoba forbid a horrid monster had gotten to you?

He shook his head as he grabbed his medical bag and started towards the front doors of the clinic.

Harvey knocked lightly on the front desk, drawing Maru from her work.

"They didn't show?" Its not a question that needs answer since she would have been the first to know if you had stopped by but Harvey answers honestly none the less.

"No, I'm going to go check on them. I'll page you if i need help." He sighs, Maru worries her lip and taps her nails against the desk.

"Ominous."
...

Luckily, after the short walk to the farm he finds you outside. Though the circumstance is a bit different than normal. You were laid back over one of the pigs as if she were a giant foam roller. Your eyes were closed and one of your prized chickens were roosting just on your tummy.

"So I see you lost track of time." He speaks up, startling the chicken and the pig, and there for you. The chicken quickly hops off of you as the pig snorts and begins to stand. You, panicked as you look desperately try to stick the landing as you are hoisted off your feet from the pigs sudden movement.

Once on your feet you wince and hold your hand just under your chest against your ribs.

"Oh! Ow ow. No. Not that, hah..." you frown and lean back to alleviate the pain. "Its my... stupid rib." You whine.

Harvey stifles the silent chuckles once he realizes you are in pain and quickly comes to your side.

"What have you done now?" He mutters in a worried tone.

"Woke up?" You reply partially offended. You hadn't done shit today! And you were rather miffed about it.

"Alright, alright..." he sighs and helps you stand up straight. "Can you make it inside ok your own? I'll look you over there." He asks and you nod, your posture leaned away from the offending rib and slightly back as you took in quiet gasps of pain. Harvey retrieved his bag and followed you inside were you sat on the couch.

"You said it was your rib?" Harvey asks coming to kneel by the couch. You nod and his hands hover over the area. "I'm going to feel around to see if I can find anything. Okay?" He asks and you nod. The pressure of his finger tips is more than uncomfortable and has you struggling to not pull away from him. Harvey sighs and pulls away. "I don't feel anything but it could be a slipped rib with how concentrated the pain is for you. All I can do is apply heat and try to massage it back into place- or we can try stretching."

You groan. You were tired of this. You were forced into bed rest only to overwork yourself to make up for missed time on the farm and inevitably end up in bed again. Except recovery time was getting longer, and longer.

Stretching it was. You worked standing and sitting on the floor with Harvey guiding your movements. Nearly ten minutes in and you bent over, feeling your rib lock into place like a very very painful key. You give a sharp audible gasp and quickly stand back up. The blinding pain quickly turning to relief as the rib seemed to have returned to its original position.

"Whoa, you alright?" Harvey asks, his hands hovering on either side of your hips as you nodded, processing the pain before closing your eyes.

"Hoo... yes. Okay. Yoba that was awful." You whine but the post pain endorphins quickly take over. Okay. You could do this.

Just as you muttered something about weeding the crops you felt Harvey's hands at your waist, turning you away from the door and back towards the couch.

"What- Harvey-!"

"Sit. Doctors order's. Fiancé's too." He sighs a d you sit down with an evident pout as he joins you, his hands coming to gently take yours as a tweaked mustashe and furrowed eyebrows help Accentuate the worry on his face.

"Sweet heart-" he starts and you grit your teeth.

"I'm fine."

"You aren't."

Tense silence follows along with poor eye contact on your part. You knew he was right. But what were you supposed to do?"

"As my spouse to be, I want you to hear me out..." he sighs and you nod, staring at the ground. "And as your doctor, I need you to follow my orders."
...

It could be worse. It was at least sweet, having Harvey farming with you.

"Okay... yoba... sweetheart you do this everyday?" He asks panting and you chuckle nodding.

"Most of it, yeah..."

"Well..." he stands up and stretches, "It makes sense why you sustain so many injuries with how susceptible you already are... okay... what else is left?"
...

"I don't need to take a bath Harvey I can take a shower. Plus. You seem pretty sore. Perhaps you should take one instead." You tilt your head as Harvey winces while standing up straight only to stop and think, and then quirk an eyebrow over at you.

"Why don't we both take a bath hm?" He smiles and makes his way to you, his hands slipping around your waist as he buries his face into your neck.

"Why don't we both take a bath hm?" He smiles and makes his way to you, his hands slipping around your waist as he buries his face into your neck.

"Come on Sweetie." You can hear him chuckle as he leans back to kiss your temple. "You'll feel better afterwords.~"

His tone had you thinking he had plans other than an actual bath in mind. But this... this was nice.

You were currently sat with him laying against you, nestled between your legs and you smiled and worked the shampoo into his hair.

Harvey lets out a low appreciative hum and you can tell he's loving it. You use the nozzle attachment to wash the suds from his hair and scalp, careful to get nothing in his eyes and then lean over kissing his forehead. His eyes barely open as his hand slips out of the water to intertwine his fingers with your own.

"This was a well need break my dear." He sighs happily and you nod.

It was nice.
