The Starry Night

On the roof,

Under the starry night,

When I heard a distant rumble,

Soft and fast, a train in far sight,

Might be the light escaping from those endless windows,

Might be the distant rumble reaching the heights,

But it reminds me of you,

And of the days everything was alright.

Maybe you used to take the train,

To visit my little self back in the days,

My memories are faint,

But I remember the song,

That you used to hum during the rain,

While you cradled me in your arms,

Your eyes filled with a joy of fleeting pain.

Now I'm here,

A million miles away,

Barely anyone to hold dear,

No one to stay,

But I stand on this very roof,

Under this sky, every single day,

And I remember your eyes,

When I see the brightest star shining even on the darkest of days.
