"Do you think you got in?"
"This is a huge opportunity."
"Can you two please shut up?"
Fei and Alice both put a hand over their mouths, though still leaning in to be as nosy as ever.Shrieks and screams were probably heard all over the building, we were 100% getting noise complaints.
I clicked on the email, and as the words 'we are pleased to' loaded in, the two girls joined hands in celebration.
"Make sure you tell me if my brother bullies you!" Fei joked. I think she was joking.
Alice sat back at her desk, tying up her long dyed blond hair and beginning to put on makeup. "We should go out."
FeiFei agreed, nodding enthusiastically. She pulled her hair into a bun before throwing on a sweater, displaying a stark contrast between the two roommates.

"I told you not to wear the heels," Fei lectured as Alice poked at her blister.
"There's no time to mope. Stick on a plaster and lets heard out."
The three of us trudged on to class, Fei having to drag the golden haired girl along as she limped.
Class hadn't started yet and I was already doing work for other students. Sure, I was a biology major, but those from mathematics or english were always dropping by.
I managed to land myself in the second school in the country. Why not the first you ask? I ask myself the same question. I never looked into it, but I assume there were gaps in my learning when I transferred. That's in the past now anyway.
The crowd of students in need around my table dispersed as the professor clapped her hands, beginning the lesson.

Today's lessons and lectures seemed to go by fairly quickly, perhaps it was because it was the first day of my internship.
I had been accepted at a nearby hospital, it wouldn't exactly fit my busy schedule, but it wouldn't hurt to get some work experience. I'll find a way to work around it.
"Welcome!" A cheery man greeted me at the reception, his nametag read 'Milo.'
"Good afternoon, Milo."
"Ei," he smiled back and led me toward some doctor's office. Milo was Fei's older brother, he promised to show me around once I arrived.
He knocked on the door and announced his arrival. The man inside welcomed him in.
My heart dropped to my stomach the moment I walked in. Dark sable hair the exact shade as mine, and hazel eyes that once looked at me with warmth and care.
"This is Dr.Kosori, you'll be under his wing for the period of your internship. Such a coincidence you two share a name!"
Milo shot us both a flashing smile before striding out, did he know he had dodged a bullet? His gaze softened, a sullen smile pulling at his lips.
"How long has it been?" He greeted me. The sickeningly sweet smile I had imagined two years ago.
The man cleared his throat, returning to a more professional and sleek expression. "Your internship will be about four months. Let us begin."
That was probably the most uncomfortable first day ever. Everything felt dazed, numb. Dr.Kosori did everything with a smile. I observed as he greeted patients and got along with coworkers. Was that the same smile he greeted my mother with that night?
Was that the same smile he seduced my English teacher with?
