"Will I ever see you again?"

"Of course Jessie" I said to my friend, we were 6 years old

"This is so stupid, why do you have to move?"

"Because my mom and dad want to move"

"You know what, you don't have to move, you can live with me"

Just then we heard

"Hope, it's time to go"

"Please don't go, I'm gonna miss you"

"And I'm going to miss you too" I said hugging her

"Hope, come on we're going to miss our flight if we don't go now" my dad said

"Jessie, maybe you could come and see me in Ohio sometime"

"That would be great, well, I guess you have to go now, don't forget to call me everyday" she said letting me go

"I won't, well I guess this is bye for now" I said and walked to the car and got in and we took off to the airport.

When we got to the airport we got on the plane and headed to Columbus, Ohio. I just sat there in my seat thinking about how Jessie was my best friend in Georgia and now that I'm moving, I'm not going to have any friends.

"What's wrong sweetie?" my mom asked

"Why did we have to move, I'm not going to have any friends"

"Of course you will have friends here"

"Not like the one's I just left" I said sadly

"I'm sure you'll find some kids that are like your other friends"

I stayed silent for the rest of the flight. Once we landed we went to our new house, and when we pulled into the driveway the moving van was already there waiting. My mom and dad and the movers were putting everything into the house while I sat on the curb with my elbows on my knees and my face in my hands.

"You must be the new neighbors" I heard someone say

I turned my head to my right and I saw two boys, about my age, both with brown hair, one had blue eyes and the other had brown eyes. They came and sat down next to me, one on each side of me.

"Yeah, we're new" I said sadly

"What's wrong?" asked the boy with blue eyes

"I miss my friends"

"Well, we could be your new friends, I'm Jay" said the brown eyed boy

"And I'm Gary, what's your name" said the blue eyed boy

"My name's Hope"

"Hope, I like that name, do you think you could come to Gary's house and play?" Jay asked

"It's right next door" Gary said

"I'll go and ask, stay there" I said getting up with a smile

I ran to my mom who was standing on the front porch

"Momma, can I go next door and play?"

She looked over at Gary and Jay and then back at me

"Sure sweetie"

I hugged her and ran back to the boys

"Alright, I can go" I said smiling.

We walked into Gary's backyard and started playing. About an hour later a woman came out the back door

"Well, hello" she said

"Hello, I'm Hope" I said

"Well, Hope I hope you're having a good time" she said chuckling alittle

"Yeah, I'm having a good time"

"That's good, my name is Mrs. Vernon, are the boys being nice" she said looking at them

"Yeah, there being nice"

"Alright, well Hope, if you need anything, just let me know ok?"

"Ok" I said and she went back inside

Then me Jay and Gary started playing again. The sun started setting and I saw my dad come over to the fence

"Hope, it's time to come home now"

"Alright"

He then headed towards the house

"I'll see you guys tomorrow right?"

"Yeah" they said together

"Ok, bye" I said waving and going home

Once I was inside my mom asked

"Did you have fun?"

"Yeah, and you were right, I did make friends"

"I told you I was right, so what are their names?"

"Jay and Gary" I said sitting at the table and started to eat

"Are they brothers?" my dad asked

"No, there cousins"

The rest of the night went by fast and I went to bed. I dreamt about how good my first day here in Ohio was.
