Ch.2

11 years Later

Me, Jay and Gary have been friends ever since that day. We were juniors in Olentangy High school.

"Hope, do you have to work today?" Gary asked

I sighed

"Yeah"

"What's wrong?" Jay asked

"Oh nothing, you know just the fact I have to work on my birthday, don't tell me you forgot"

"What? Me forget? Never"

I raised my eyebrow and looked at him

"Ok, I forgot" he said sighing

"I didn't" Gary sang happily

"Oh, shut up Gary" Jay said

"What? It's not my fault that you forgot the most gorgeous girl's birthday"

I blushed alittle when Gary said that

"So, um, do you guys have work?" I asked trying to change the subject

"No" they said

My mouth fell open

"Ok, that's not fair"

"Hey, we'll come and see you" Jay said

"Yeah, ok" I said sarcastically

"I promise we will" Jay said

"Alright, you promised, now I've got to get going or I'm going to be late, I'll see you guys later" I said waving and took off to my job.

When I got there I put the candy striped hat on and started serving ice cream, milkshakes, and malts. I was so busy that I didn't even recognize the person's voice

"How can I help you today?" I asked looking down at the cash register

"Boy, I never seen you work this hard"

I looked up and smiled when I saw Jay and Gary

"Hey guys"

"Hey Annie" Jay said

"Jay, I would recommend you not to chop up my middle name like that again, unless you want a chocolate milkshake all over your white shirt"

"But wouldn't that get you fired?" he asked

"Yes, but it would be worth it, so what can I get you two?" I said smiling

"I would like a chocolate milkshake" Gary said

"And I would like a vanilla ice cream cone" Jay said

"Alright, that will be $5.50" I said and started getting their items

Once I handed them their items I took the money and put it in the register and walked to the font of the counter.

"What are you doing?" Gary asked after he took a drink of his milkshake

"My shift's over, you guys were my last costumers for today" I said sitting down at a table

"Well since your shift is over, here's your present" Jay said sitting down and handed me a small box

"You guys didn't have to buy me anything" I said taking the box and opening it

"Well, you were pretty mad when you left school, so we wanted to get you something"

I opened it and saw light blue earrings

"Thank you Jay" I said hugging him

"Not a problem, Gary where's your gift for her?" Jay said
