Connor's P.O.V.
~Flashback~
"It's okay you'll do better next time." Jacob said. We were walking home from school and talking about the math quiz I had failed. I groaned and kicked a rock out of the way.
"But next time doesn't matter. My mother's gonna kill me when she sees my grade." My mother was strict and would flip if I ever brought home anything lower than an A.
"Do you think I can try to change this F to an A?" I asked looking at the big red F written at the top of the paper. There was no answer. "Jacob?" I asked and turned around. No one was there. "Jacob?" I called again but there was only silence. Weird. I stood and stared at the empty sidewalk before I continued to walk home. I got the feeling someone was following me. I turned around but the sidewalk was still empty.
"Haha Jacob very funny. I know you're there." I called out but not a single sound followed. "Jacob?" I tried again but still no one answered. I turned around quickened my pace. I was getting a little creeped out. That's when I heard the footsteps. I stopped in my tracks and listened as the footsteps came closer. My mind was telling me to run but my legs wouldn't move.
Then out of nowhere the footsteps stopped. I could feel the presence of someone else. I whirled around and a man in a black suit with dark sunglasses stood in front of me. I gasped and took a step back.
"Who- who are you?" I choked out. But instead of answering the man grabbed me and made sure I couldn't move. A black van pulled up beside us. Another man in black got out and opened the back door. I squirmed and kicked but nothing worked. The man had a tight grip on me. He shoved me into the back seat of the van and slammed the door. I immediately tried to open the door but it wouldn't budge. I banged on the window I screamed for help but it was no use. The two men got back into the car and sped off.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked them trying to hold back tears.
"To Area 51." The one driving replied.
"Excuse me?!" I was incredibly confused. "Why are you taking me there???"
"Don't act innocent. You know why." The other one said. I gulped. They couldn't possibly know about... that...
"Your father agree to let us take you. He packed your things for you. They're in the trunk."
"You mean my stepfather." I corrected him. "My real father wouldn't allow this." I mumbled the last part.
"What about my mother? What did she say about this?"
"She agreed." The man driving said bluntly. Figures. She will agree with anything that man says.
"What exactly are you taking me to Area 51 for?" I asked. He driver looked at me in the rear view mirror and smirked.
"You'll see."
~End of Flashback~
That all happened a year and a half ago. Turned out I wasn't the only one who was brought there. There were hundreds, maybe thousands of other people like me there.
They say that they want to find out what makes us different. Why we can do what we do. That they only want to understand us and make sure we aren't dangerous. But I don't think that's the case. No, I know that's not the case.
They're planning on bringing one more person here. And I'm determined to use that person to get me out of here. Get all of us out of here. Before they can do something they will regret.
