"Last day of school Emma!" I hear my mom scream right in my ear. I rolled over on to my face and told her to go away. Obviously she didn't hear me and continued to scream. Half awake I decided to get up and check my phone. Of course my friend Brianna had started a group message with my friends Kierra, Shay, Alyssa, and some others asking what we should all wear for the last day of school. I replied and said that I was just going to wear a t-shirt and shorts when everyone else was going to wear a dress. After I sent the message I went to my closet and put on a pink school t-shirt and under armor shorts. I went to the bathroom, put my contacts in, brushed my teeth and put my hair in a bun. "Do you want any breakfast?"I heard my mom yell from downstairs. I thought that I didn't need any because there was probably something at school for the last day. With that I walked down the stairs, put on my converse, and walked outside. My house is pretty nice because my dad works as a manager at the nuclear station and gets a huge pay. I stepped down to the driveway and got into my red Chevy silverado and thought."I'm going to be a junior."I quietly said by myself. I still can't believe that it is the last day of my sophomore year. Last time I checked I was a scared freshman going into a new part of the school with new freedoms and opportunities. I slowly started to back out of my driveway and turned to go pick up Kierra, my friend that is one grade below me. I drove for about two blocks before arriving at her house. I sat there for what seemed like hours but was really only ten minutes before I saw her blond curly hair come out of the door. She was of course waring a dress. She opened the front door to my truck, sat down, and turned to look at me."Why aren't you wearing a dress Emma!"she asked me in a harsh voice."There really is no reason to wear a dress." I replied. I have never really been the type of person to dress up a lot, I just never find a reason to feel uncomfortable for a "special occasion". Usually they are long too, so I choose to be comfy. We finally arrived at Auburn High School. I was trying to find a parking spot when out of no where, we get ambushed by five guys. I recognized them all right away, Dustin, Michel, Daniel, Weston, and Tristan. All at once they jumped in the back of my truck and started yelling. I rolled down my window and yelled at them. "Do you guys have to do this to us every year?" Dustin replied, "Ya why not it's fun to bug you two."Fine whatever, just get out of my truck!"I said. "Ok." Responded Dustin. And with that all of the boys climbed on the hood of my truck."Seriously?!" I said. "Ok, have fun." I said evilly. Right after I said that I stomped on the gas pedal, and they all went flying off the truck. Kierra and I sat there for about five minutes laughing our heads off before we decided that we needed to park and go inside. We walked up the stairs to the school and went right to the cafeteria to see if there was anything special for the last day of
School. "What do you think they will have there?"asked Kierra. "Probably pancakes and sausage like last years last breakfast." I said. "Maybe, or they could surprise us this year and make omlets!"said Kierra. " I seriously doubt they have enough money to make everyone in the school omlets."I explained." True dat." said Kierra. We arrived at the cafeteria and found that there was omlets. "I told you! But do you ever listen, no!" Said Kierra in her know it all voice. "Ok, ok you win! I was just trying to put logic to the idea." I replied. "Like always."Kierra added. We ate our breakfasts and went to go sit in the gym for the ceremony that takes place on the last day. They talked for an hour about this school year and all of the accomplishments of the school. Then they started calling names for best grades of the semester and year, and of course, my name was called first. One thing you should know about me is that I'm sort of a nerd. I have really high grades, but I fit in with the popular group because of my rich status. I was called for the highest grade average, and with a 4.0 grade average, I was the best of my class. My friend Brianna got called next and we were the only ones to be called. We waited for our pictures to be taken then sat at our seats again. "I hate being the smartest in the class it makes us stick out in a different way then everyone else." Said Brianna. "Bri, it just means we are smart, nothing really special." I explained. Deep down I knew Brianna was right that we did stick out in a different way."Maybe that's why all of our friends fit in to the popular group, because we are head of the class too just like them. " Said Brianna. "I just never thought of it till now." Brianna added. Right after Brianna said that, the principle turned on a high school end of the year video. We sat and watched it for about 20 minutes, and then school was released for the summer. An invitation to a party at the lake was set on my truck's windshield. Kierra needed a ride home and I told her about the invitation. "Well I think we should go." Said Kierra. "I'm not sure, I heard there is sometimes beer at these parties." I said. "So what! I'm pretty sure everyone in the high school is going! If there is beer there just don't drink it!" Kierra said in a hurry. "Ok, ok, I guess I'll go, no harm to me really if I don't drink the beer right?" I asked. "I'm pretty sure." Said Kierra unsure. "Ok we better get ready then."
