It's A Promise

Promise

Just in case, the story takes place when Kano, Kido and Seto recently found out about their eye powers, meaning they can't control it yet and they are still kids.

The sound of rain echoed in the shed that Kido had been hiding in. The loud thunder and sudden bursts of lightning scared her. She was in the corner, shivering, her hands covering her ears. She shook uncontrollably in fear.

"Kyaaa!" She screamed as a sudden lightning flashed near her. "A-ah.... Help me....someone..!" She cried.

"...do!....Kido!!" Someone called out to her.

"K-Kano...?" She starts banging on the sheds door. "O-Over here...!" She shouted as tears continued to fall down her cheeks.

The knob started to rattle.

"Kido? Are you there...?" He asks.

"Y-Yes...!" She sniffs

Bang bang

"Stand back!" He shouted as Kido moved out of the way.

Creak creak..... Crash!

The door fell down on to the muddy floor and Kano had fallen along with it. He looks up to see Kido's face filled with tears.

"Ka-Kano.....!" She ran towards him and hugged him tight. The impact of her tackle-like hug caused Kano to hit his head on the fallen door.

She started bawling. Kano smiles and started petting her head.

"Stop crying now... I'm here already, so stop crying okay?" He said trying to calm her down.

"W-What took you *sniff* so long *hic* to find me....?" She said while she wiped her tears away.

"Sorry Sorry, you're really good at hiding!" He exclaims scratching the back of his neck. "Let's go home?" He says. She nods as she got off of him. He stands up and holds Kido's hand as the two ran back home together.

"Kano!!" Ayano exclaims as the two ran to their beloved sister and hugged her tightly. Seto stood behind her and saw Kido who was a wreck. Seto took Ayano's hand and held it while he reached out his other hand to hold Kido's.

"Don't cry, Kido-chan..! Me, Nee-chan and Kano will protect you!" He says with a toothy smile. Kido looked at him and with a close-eyed smile she said.

"Uhn! It's a promise!" Ayano exclaims as she held out her pinky finger. Kano, Kido and Seto did the same and intertwined it with each other.

Hari sen bon nomasu!

Yubi kitta!"

The four of them sang together and laughed as they ran home together. As soon as they got home they changed out of their wet clothes and went to bed.

The following morning, Kido had caught a cold. Despite Ayano's concern, she had to leave for school because she had already missed so much. Seto and Kano were left in charge.

The two boys did all they could until they were exhausted. Kano, on the other hand stayed with Kido the whole time while Seto rested on the couch.

"N-Next time I'll find you faster!" Kano announces. "That way you won't get sick and nee-chan won't be worried!"

"W-What if I accidentally u-use my p-power and conceal myself. I-I'll be hard to find then..." She pointed out.

"I'll find you even either way! I always will! Even if you use your power or something! I promise!" He says with a smile.

"It's a promise okay?" As she held out her pinky and Kano intertwined it with his and sang the song. Kido smiles happily.

--Few years later--

Kido stared at her pinky, remembering the promise they had made as kids.

"Kido~! I found you~!" Kano's voice said from behind her as he sat down beside her. She leaned on his shoulder.

"Nee-chan..." She cried silently on his shoulder. He looked at his sister's tombstone and pat Kido's head.

"Me and Seto will surely protect Kido. Just like we promised Nee-chan..." He said sadly, tear silently fell down his cheeks.

Kido hugs Kano to comfort him and he simply placed a hand on top of her arm. Continuing to cry quietly.

"Ne.. Kano let's make another promise..." She suddenly said. Kano turned to look at her. "Let's be together forever...?" She asks, blushing. He hugs her.

The pinky swear and sealed it with the two sharing their first kiss together. Seto smiles as he watched the two from the distance.

--10 years later--

"Kano...!" Kido shouted angrily.

"Ye-es~?" He replied while he turned around to see Kido cooking.

"Ah~! Don't overdo it!" He exclaims getting off his lazy butt. "Your pregnant you know!" He says.

"I obviously know that!" She said. Kano laughs as he wraps his arms around her, holding her hand.

"Jeez, we just got married last year and I'm already pregnant. You sure are in a rush for a family aren't you, Kano?" She smiles as she caresses her belly.

"Oh shush! At least your happy!" He points out. She smiles.

"As long as you're here with me. Of course I'm happy!" She says as she kisses her husband on the lips.

"A-h~ that not fair~!" He says as he rains down a whole bunch of kisses on her face and neck.

"H-hey! Stop playing around--!" She says laughing.

The two simultaneously look up and smile. The two had fulfilled another promise from back then and they plan on continuing on fulfilling every promise they make.

"What should we name her, Kano?" She asks.

"Hmm, Aiyaku?" He says, and she laughs.

"You are so bad at making names!"
She snickers causing him to blush in embarrassment. "But I like it..!" She exclaims.

"'Ai' written as '愛' meaning 'love' and 'Yaku' from 'Yakusoku' written as '約束' meaning 'promise'." He explains. She smiles as he has put so much thought in it.

She looks at the picture in front of her. It had been a picture Seto took 10 years ago when Kano and Kido shared their first kiss and made the promise to stay together forever.

And here they were, loving each other every day and this time their promise was to love each other until they die.
