Chapter 1
I said goodbye to them, they waved but I could tell they were happy.
I stepped into Sonja's car, she smiled at me.
"You ready Aqua?" She asks, her eyes showing excitement.
"Yeah," I shyly say, she was so perfect compared to me. She wasn't a orphan, she had a great family.
She drove us to our new apartment, it had a pool and trees everywhere. She pulled on my suitcase and we walked up the stairs to our place, she opened the door to show boxes and packing peanuts everywhere.
I walked into my room, the apartment came with basic furniture; so a wire framed bed and a dresser. I open the extra now that wasn't clothes and set my jar full of dollars besides my bed. I had been saving my money since I around nine.
I unpacked most of my stuff when Sonja came in with needing assistance with the organization, she was awful with it.
"So should the cups go on the top drawer or on the bottom?" She asks, I shrug.
"Top I guess," I say, she laughs as I start putting the cups in rows.
"I hope you know that they won't stay this way," she says, I scoff at her. "Now Gwendolyn," she says, calling me by my birth name, I hate it.
I mean my parents left me on the doorsteps of a awful orphanage, why should I go by there name they chose for me.
