Chapter 1
"Where am I..?"
I will never love you
The five words nobody wants to hear. A simple sentence that could easily change someone forever. So easy to say, but the consequences aren't so easy. But for one boy, the consequences were way worse than he would ever imagine.
"I will never love you." Ezra spat, narrowing his eyes in disgust at the boy Infront of him. He watched as the poor boy's eyes filled with shock and sorrow. He watched as they contorted from that miserable suprise to a furious glare, his eyes filled with rage.
"What..? How dare you reject me!" He yelled. He balled his hand into a fist, the pictures he had taken of Ezra since he had first spotted him crinkling up in his palm. Ezra felt a wave of dread wash over his as he looked into his eyes. It was if he had been taken control of by some sort of monster. He just stood here, frozen. Before he could register what was happening, Ezra felt a pair of shaking hands grip his shoulders tightly, then a sudden wave of panic flooded over him as he felt he was falling backwards. He glanced at the boy, spotting the horror in his eyes. Then, everything went black."EZRA!"
He couldn't feel anything except a numb pain at the back of his head. For a few seconds, it felt as if he was floating, then he felt a soft tingling feeling on his back. He squinted his eyes open, confused. To his surprise, he was no longer in those dull school halls that reminded him of depression and hopeless teenagers. He opened his eyes wide. He was staring at a clear blue sky, the sound of birds singing softly filled the air. He sat up and started looking around frantically, partially still full of panic. He was sitting on a field full of elegant and appeal flowers. There was a variety of them: roses, daisies, tulips and more. But there was also some flowers that Ezra had never seen before. The warm sun shone in his eyes, causing him to squint again. Suddenly, a gentle voice beside him shook him from his thoughts.
"Oh, your awake! Jeez, I thought you were dead!" The voice wasn't familiar, but it was rather soothing. Ezra turned his head towards where the sound was. Sitting to his side was a small child, their appearance was not usual for a young child though. The child had poison green hair that was put up in two neat ponytails and heliotrope eyes that shined as the sun reflected off of them. Their bright smile made Ezra feel calm, although he was in a completely strange place. The child was wearing a lovely sapphire dress that had a Slightly lighter belt around it which was decorated with azurites. The belt had small pockets on them that seemed to be full of something. They were wearing light turquoise sandals and their legs had small bandages placed over them, probably from clumsiness. Her soft ivory skin was covered in freckles that were barely visible, as they were almost the same colour as her skin. The oddest part about her, though, was the pair of rouge coloured, feathered wings on her back. They were decorated with small charms and flowers, and looked almost like a prop. Ezra was still rather confused as why he was in this strange place, but this young child was certainly making him feel calmer just by being there.
"U-uhm, who are you? Where am I..?" He mumbled, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, how impolite of me! My name is Juno Coven, and who might you be?" They answered, tilting their head to the side slightly as they finished their sentence. Ezra hesitated, before muttering, "Ezra Solace.. now please, where am I? How did I get here?"
"Well right now, we're at Eldbotlds, The Magic Fields. But I am not so sure how exactly you got here. I've never seen you around before, I must admit." Juno seemed to be deep in thought, her eyebrows furrowed and her lips pursed tightly together. Ezra was getting even more worried by the second. Suddenly, Juno's face turn from one deep in thought to a rather excited one.
"Hey, how about we be friends? I'm sure we'll eventually figure out how you got here, and maybe even how to get you back to where you're from!" Juno smiled brightly at Ezra, their eyes shining more than before. "So, is that a yes?" She was inches away from Ezra's face at this point. He nodded gently. Juno's face lit up as she jumped into the air, those rouge wings of her flapping in the sunlight. She laughed happily and landed perfectly.
"Yay!! A new friend!" She giggled and clapped her hands together. Typical child behaviour. Ezra felt his lips curve into a slight smile. A friend, maybe one of many that he would make in this odd world?Word count: 838 words
