I stood nervously on a big stage with over two hundred people surrounding me. I played with the ends of my long wavy brown hair while everyone was socialising with eachother. I felt a bit lonely considering I didn’t know anyone. We were all waiting for two people that could potentially change every single one of our lives. For good or for bad. After about ten minutes of anticipation Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh entered the room to a loud round of applause from everyone.
“Hi everyone,” Simon said into a microphone he was holding. There were mumbles of “hello’s” and “hi’s”. One boy shouted ‘GOOD MORNING LORD SIMON’ and made everyone laugh, including me.
“Morning Louis,” Simon said smiling. ‘Louis’ high fived the curly haired boy next to him.
“Moving on,” Louis (Walsh) said into his microphone, “Considering Cheryl and Dannii are still not able to participate as Judge’s at this stage in the competition myself and Simon have called in someone special to come and help us.” “Please welcome Nicole Scherzinger,” Simon said as a very pretty looking Nicole walked into the room. Everyone, once again, burst into a round of applause. She smiled and sat down at the desk that Simon was leaning against.
“Nicole will be with us until Judge’s Houses which is when Cheryl and Dannii will return,” Louis said sitting next to Nicole.
“So, we’re going to start this year’s Bootcamp with something a bit different,” Simon said. Confused faces filled the room along with a few mumbles. “You’re going to all perform a dance routine. The girls dancing to one song and the boys another,” Simon explained. Either groans or excited screeches filled the room. The word ‘dance’ made my heart drop. I hated dancing with a huge passion. I was hopeless and had no confidence in that area what so ever.
After Simon explained everything in detail and the girls were asked to stay on the stage while the boys went backstage. Brian Freidman appeared on stage with a few choreographers. Thankfully, I was placed at the back hoping I would not be noticed. A girl group called ‘Husstle’ were placed at the front, considering their amazing bodies I would of thought they were really good dancers. I was next to a girl called Cher, she didn’t look too pleased that she was at the back. She looked at everyone like they were a piece of dirt.
“Hi, I’m Caitlin,” I said to her trying to be friendly. She just grunted, nice girl aye.
“Okay everyone we’re just going to do a warm up,” Brian shouted. Music started to play and we were told to copy what Brian and the choreographers were doing at the front. The moves were pretty basic but I still struggled to catch on. After about fifteen minutes I was already sweating buckets, not a very attractive sight. I could feel myself getting hydrated, but they wouldn’t let us get any drinks.
“Okay girls, I’m going to to teach you the routine,” Brian said. He took us through the moves, everyone seemed to be catching on apart from me. I was just embarrasing myself. I felt like I wanted to cry, I was in this to sing not to dance. Cher picked it all up straight away but she was being so cocky. In the way she moved and her facial expressions, she definitely thought she owned the place. I hated people like her. “Everyone take five!” Brian shouted. I rushed backstage before anyone. I need something to drink before I passed out. I reached the refreshment table where a group of teenage boys were stood, grabbed a cup of water and gulped it down as fast as I could. I must’ve looked like a mad person.
