Felix Pov:
Class starts and our science teacher, Ms Jae, tells us our new partners will be the same for the whole year. Hyunjin and I look at each other and smile. "Looks like your my partner for the whole year then." Hyunjin nudges me and grins.
"Yeah that's great I hope we get to know each other more." I say to him smiling back
"Okay class I want you to talk to each other for 10 minutes about what you did during the summer break. I hope you enjoyed your holidays!" Ms Jae says.
"So Hyunjin did you do anything during the summer break?" I ask him. I face him as I put my full attention on him.
"Hmm.. well my dad owns a famous company called Hyun Corporation and soon after graduation I will be taking over his company because he is retiring then. I helped out with some business stuff. I have to get used to it so then I'll know what to do when I start running the company on my own. My parents aren't home much, they're usually too busy with work so they either leave early or come home late so my friends come over to my house and we chill there. That's what we did in the holidays. I guess it wasn't so bad."
"What did you do in the holidays Felix?" Hyunjin asks me.
"Well me and my family moved here in Korea because my dad found a better job with a company. I'm from Australia, so I have an Australian accent which you could probably tell." I chuckle at him. Hyunjin laughs."Yeah I noticed that, Chan hyung is also from Australia so I guess and you also have a charming deep voice, I like it already. Continue though."
"I don't think I really did that much anyway I was too busy moving here and trying to settle here. My life is too boring Hyunjin I did nothing." I say and sigh.
Hyunjin laughs at me. "What are you laughing at?" I glare at my friend and playfully push him.
"No no it's nothing I just find it funny that you said your life boring, I don't think your life is boring at all. You were just busy and your also new so you couldn't find anything fun to do around here. When you meet the others we'll show you how to have fun Felix. You're like a bright sunshine." Hyunjin teases me.
I blush at him looking down. "No I'm not, what makes you say that. You don't know anything about me."
"Do you even know yourself?" he chuckles at me "You're cute." I look back at him and laugh. "Did you just call me cute?" I raise an eyebrow at Hyunjin.
Hyunjin blushes at me "What no no no I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that Felix I meant like you know you're cute cause.. you know what never mind." He says coldly and looks away focusing on the book in front of him.
I know he didn't mean it but for some reason it hurt. I decide to brush the feeling away. "Its okay Hyunjin." I say giving him a reassuring smile "I know you didn't mean it don't worry."
Hyunjin looks up. "Okay then sure. Sorry for the way I acted." He brushes the back of his neck and laughs nervously. Probably in embarrassment I thought but I stayed nonchalant and just nodded along with him.
Hyunjin POV:
After 10 minutes of talking about our holidays, Ms Jae then tells us to write a practical task of how to make salt crystals. We also need to write the equipment needed for the practical.
"What equipment do we need to make the salt crystals?" I ask Felix as I read but nothing makes sense to me.
"Spatula, measuring cylinder, beaker, glass rod, evaporating basin, conical flask with filter, and a bunsen burner. I think we also need a water bath thing. Felix says with his face scrunched up in confusion from the last part. I laugh lightly, he is really cute.
"Okay thanks" I say writing down the equipment needed in my book. Now we need to write down the steps to make it.
"We have to place some sulfuric acid in a conical flask and warm it in a water bath. Then we need to add a spatula of copper oxide powder to the acid and stir with a glass, continuing adding the copper oxide powder until it is excess. Filter the mixture to remove excess copper oxide. Then pour the filtrate which is the copper sulfate solution into an evaporating basin. After that we need to heat the copper sulfate solution to evaporate half of the water, and last thing is to pour the solution into a watch glass and leave to allow all of the water to evaporate." Felix told me. I stare at him in full shock and confusion.
"Uh any English?" I say nervously. "You're such a nerd." Felix glares. "Yeah so that makes you a genuis, dingus." Felix takes my pen and starts copying the notes he made in his book onto mine and handed my pen back. "Now read this and it will make sense."
I do as I told and finally nod in improvement. "Could have just told me you know instead of saying it scientifically. Kinda cut with the smart nerd shit yeah."
Felix rolls his eyes at me. "Its a science class, Hyunjin. What do you expect? I also did this back in Australia, also if we wanted to make the crystals larger we just need to leave it at a windowsill."
Ms Jae walked over towards us. "Hey boys how you guys doing?" she says checking our work and the crystals we made.
"Everything is going good miss." I say showing her our completed task " We finished the task and the steps on how to make the salt crystals." She smiles. "Yes I can see that. Good job, you even managed to make the crystals too."
Felix and I smile proudly as she left. We then moved the equipment back to where it belongs and left our crystals on the tray where Ms Jae told us to leave it not forgetting to write our names on the tag and stick it on the bowl where the crystals are in.
As there is 10 minutes left Ms Jae allowed us to talk to the others for a bit before class was dismissed.
"Hey Hyunjinnie" I look back and smiled at one of the girls in my class. She's a cheerleader and popular. "Hey, do you need anything?" I ask her as she giggles. I hear more giggles from behind and turn to see her friends watching our interaction.
"If you need something hurry up and say it please." I say irritated by both her and her friends who thinks they can get anything they want just because they are popular and rich. In my opinion I think Jiho is a slut.
"My friends and I are wondering if you would like to hang out with us today during break and lunch?" she says placing her hand on my desk. I sigh and look at her. "No I don't." I reply coldly.
"Please Jinnie" Jiho whines at me. Okay now I got the ick for that. I look at her in disgust and annoyance. "Listen fuck off, I don't like you and I don't want to hang out with you, you're a slut for all I know so stop begging me." I say.
Ms Jae turns around as looks at me. "Hyunjin I will not tolerate your language here so watch your mouth please and as for you young lady please go back to seat class is not over yet there is still a few minutes left."
"Yes miss." We both reply. Jiho turns away angrily walking back to her seat. She pouts as she sits down. I sigh again. Girls are just so fucking annoying especially girls like Jiho. I hate it when they call me my nickname Hyunjinnie or Jinnie.
I look at Felix and realize he was watching me the whole time. I smile at him. "Are you okay Hyunjin?" he asks me and smiles.
"Yes don't worry I just don't like girls who come whining to me and asking me to hang out with them." I say. Felix laughs. "Yeah I get you its alright." He winks at me and then packs his stuff away as the bell rang dismissing us to registration.
I clear my throat as it caught Felix's attention. "Are you still going to come with me and my friends for break and lunch?" I ask him. Felix nods. "Yeah of course, thank you."
"Sweet! What is your registration room?" I ask Felix as he checks on his class schedule. "Uh it says Class F24. So I guess I go there."
I smile happily. "I'll drop you off there, you're in the same registration as Jeongin and Han." Felix laughs. "Okay then lets go."
