Never in my life have I ever thought that my best friend, Kathy and I would end up falling for the same guy but sadly it did. What's even more worse was that the guy we both ended up falling for was Christine, the popular guy in our school who was currently sitting next to me in math class."Hey Mia!"Christine whispered to me and I mentally groaned since I didn't even want to be near him much less talk to him because of the fact that my best friend likes him and so do I.
"What Christine?" I whispered back to him while at the same time I glanced at my teacher to see if he was looking my way which he wasn't.
"I was wondering if you could help me with the chemistry project today after school at the library?" he asked me which for a moment I considered saying yes but I suddenly remembered that Kathy was very good at chemistry and I instantly felt bad about wanting to say yes.
"Actually you should ask Kathy. Kathy is very good at chemistry and I am currently having a problem with the homework to." I told him but he probably knew I was lying since I never got a lower grade then an A in chemistry for 3 years straight since I entered high school. Christine frowned a little bit but he quickly covered it with a smile.
"I always forget that Kathy is good at chemistry for some reason." He told me and I stared at him waiting for him to finish his sentence.
"It's probably because she's in the cheerleading squad" he said as he stared at me looking more bored than a person watching a grass grow.
"oh yes because all cheerleaders are dumb. What a very smart accusation " I said sarcastically and to my surprise Christine smiled real big.
"Well what can I say I am not just all looks." He said arrogantly." And in this head" Christine knocked the top of his head gently." lay a brain bigger then the man who created IPhones." He said and we both instantly laughed when our eyes met.
"Mia and Christine, Are you going to keep laughing or can I continue the lesson without being interrupted for the millionth time from you too?" Mr. Henderson asked.
"No not at all. Sorry." I quickly said out loud and Mr.Henderson went back to teaching.
"That was a close one. If you haven't kissed his ass we would of gotten detention." Christine whispered to me.
"Shut up, you ass." I whispered back angrily.
"Does that mean you going to kiss me since you love to kiss ass." He replied and right as I was about to say something back to home, Mr.Henderson noticed and he quickly moved me away from Christine.
30 minutes after I got moved away from him the class ended and I was more than happy to quickly pack my books and rush to the lunch room.
When I was out of the room and in the crowded hallway, I suddenly felt Christine presence beside me and immediately I felt nervous since we never really communicated outside the classroom.
"So I was wondering.." Christine started to say but suddenly got interrupted from the sound of my cellphone ringing and when I clicked 'answer' I heard my mother's voice.
"Mia, come home right after school ends. Evan and you're aunty is going to be moving in today." My mom informed me as Christine waited patiently for me to finish talking on the phone.
"Alright. I'll be home right after school to help out. Is that all?" I asked my mother impatiently since I was during to hear what Christine wanted to ask me about. Can't blame a girl for having a crush. When my mom started to tell me more about my cousin and aunty moving in, I quickly told her a quick 'I know and a quick goodbye before I hung up but by the time I put my phone in my pocket Christine was no where to be seen.
I looked around the hallway for a little bit until I spotted Christine talking to Kathy probably about the chemistry homework. When I looked at them, I felt jealous by the way Christine and Kathy talked as if they were the only one in the hallway.
As my jealousy started to subside, my mind started to fill with thoughts of how ugly I was compared to Kathy and even all the girls in this school. I felt like crying but I knew that was a foolish thing to do so instead I got rid of those thoughts in my head and walked up to them.
Kathy was the first to notice me walking up to them and she instantly smiled real big at me. When she smiled at me I could see her pearly white teeth, her dimple on each side of her cheek and the twinkle in her beautiful hazel colored eyes.
"Hey Mia. What's up?" Kathy asked excitedly at me while twirling her straight dirty blonde hair which gave me the indication that they both were shamelessly flirting with each other just a while ago. I mentally shook by head at her but I was genuinely happy that she was happy by the fact that Christine was giving her his 'hard to get attention' that almost all the girls craved in this school.
"Just the usual. Math class just finished so I am dying to eat." I informed Kathy and she just smiled.
"Lucky. I have to got to Mrs.Benz to get extra help on the upcoming math finals." She told me while frowning.
"Ahh that sucks" Christine suddenly said and I instantly flinched from surprise since I forgot Christine was still here.
"I know. Mrs. Benz is such a bìtch." Kathy replied to Christine and from then they started having a full blown conversation about Mrs.Benz and how she was going to be fired this week and replace by a new teacher.
When a couple of minutes passed by with me just staring at Kathy and Christine I decided to get lunch so with that I said a quick goodbye to them which they replied with a bye while still focused on their conversation and I left to go get me some pizza.
