(Y/u POV)
"Run away girl! There are enough monsters here in this village. We don't need another!" The screams of the people make it worse for me to walk through my small town in the leaf village. If I just knew any better I wouldn't have come out this morning, but I couldn't just wait at home doing nothing seeing how my mother's illness is getting worse every day, waiting for me to get her medicine with the last bit of money we have. I walk through the small market looking for a seller or someone who can heal my mother.
"Get out of here!" The villagers yell out. ignoring them is better than trying to cause any problems. I know one day they'll change just how Naruto wanted them too. It won't always be the same; I head out of the village while no one is looking. Although the protective barrier can detect when someone leaves, I doubt anyone will come after me especially when everyone is either rebuilding the damage from the war a few years ago, or way too busy to even care.
Outside the leaf village a small abandoned city is located on the north side; Grandma cat, Nekobaa a healer of sorts lives out there. Whatever I can get from her has been helping my mother greatly.
I enter a net of sheets leading to grandma cat hide out. The entrance is full of many different cats, at the end is grandma cat Nekobaa sitting at the front of the entrance.
"My dear Y/u, it's been so long. Did you bring treats for my dear kitten's?" Grandma cat laughs hysterically. I dig through my bag of clothes, looking for grandma cat favorite catnip.
"As always granny cat....here." I toss her a small bag full of catnip. An Orange cat jumps up and snatches it from her.
"Oh Y/u, you're back....I thought the first bag of my whiskers, would have been enough for you. I guess not, you'll cut off all my whiskers before I'm able to regrow them." The spunky white, and orange, cat lets out a maniacal laugh. Ninneko, the leader of the cats sits next to grandma cat still munching on the last bit of catnip, in his mouth.
"Hush, now Ninneko don't be so rude. The girl is going through a tough time now and she could use the last bit of help we can offer her. Tell me dear child, how is your mother doing these days? I haven't seen her coming around much like she used to." Grandma cat looks at me concerned.
"No, the medicine isn't working like it used to, her sickness has been getting worse. I need a medicine that can help my mother get better."
"I'm sorry my dear child, but there's nothing I can do from here. If the medicine didn't work in the first place that means you're mother is at no help. Now that your mother's sickness has been becoming even worse. I'm afraid I can't do anything more to help you."
"What? There has to be a way to help her, please grandma cat." I begin to feel hopeless. Hearing granny cat say those words. The one person who's been able to help my mother since her sickness. "Why? after all this time, the medicine isn't working? but it worked so well at first. Why is it any different now?" Tears threaten to come out from my eyes. Grandma cat stir intently, then closes her eyes looking shameful she couldn't help.
"I'm sorry dear, but its almost a matter of time she'll......she won't be here much longer; I can give you medicine that will keep her from having pain, but it will only be delaying the inevitable. I'm sorry Y/u, but Here....take it." Grandma cat tosses me a small vile full with some type of liquid. "she'll die peacefully without pain, give it to her and you'll have a little time to spend, say your goodbyes while you still can Y/u."
"You want me to poison her?" Tears begin to fall out from me.
".....you'll be doing her a favor, your mother's suffering, and she needs medicine that doesn't exist. Look kid it's hard, but you'll be taking her out of her misery."
"How could you just say that? I know there's a way to help her, okay? I won't stop looking for it. Thanks for nothing Nekobaa." I leave granny cat hut, frustrated now there's nothing I can do to help my mother, no one will help me.
In the tent
"Wow, grandma that was harsh, giving poison to a kid to kill her mother, you've gone low." Ninneko looks at grandma cat with a look of disappointment.
"The girl needs to learn whether she'll be alone, she doesn't need to make her mother suffer as well. I gave her the one thing that she'll have to face one day."
"Grandma cat, I need to discuss a couple words with you." A man in a black, dusty, cloak, comes inside the hut. his long, black raven hair covered half the man's face. The man looked tired like he had come out of a long day of work.
"Ah, Sasuke Uchiha, back in the city already Sasuke." Grandma cat laughs out.
"I see you had a visitor, Ninneko looks to be having fun." Sasuke looks at the white, and orange cat that seemed to be fading in and out of reality because of the catnip.
"Yes, the girl, a quiet one. She brought Ninneko a present. The poor girl's mother is sickly and doesn't have much time left. But all said and done, what can I help you with today, Sasuke?"
"I was assigned to a mission by an old friend, and I'm looking for a place to stay the night." Sasuke says husky yet tired voice.
"Ah, of course Sasuke, but the room does come with a price, but you must be tired from your long trip, you can pay me back in the morning. Second room to your left." Grandma cat points to the room, a slight smile formed on her face. Sasuke nods slightly, then heads to the room.
