Kenma: are you coming over today
Kuroo: I wasn't planning on it but I can?
Kenma: you don't have to
Kuroo: Is your mom home?
Kenma: it sounds like your coming over for sex when you say it like that
Kenma: but no
Kuroo: I don't have anything to do, I'll come over
Kuroo: Do you want me to bring anything?
Kenma: youre good
Kuroo: Mmkay. I'll be there in 20
Kenma: mom left the door unlocked for you
Kenma glanced at the time on his phone, 9:23. He'd woken up to his mother yelling up the stairs that she was leaving. If Kuroo hadn't been coming over every day recently, he would've just ignored her and gone back to sleep, but it felt wrong to not check if he were going to "be graced with Kuroo's presence". He rolled over in bed, hesitant to really get up and off his phone. After a few minutes of wrestling with his sleepy brain, his bladder won. Kenma trudged out of bed to use the restroom and brush his teeth, the least he could do before his friend arrived. He splashed his face with cold water in a failed attempt to appear having had more than three hours of sleep. Beside his bed, his water cup was empty. Kenma silently groaned to himself and willed himself downstairs to refill it, adding lots of ice for crunching on.
""You're up," Kuroo smiled, walking into the kitchen with a plastic grocery bag in hand. "That's new."
"Mhm," the shorter yawned. "Needed water and there's no ice upstairs. Games?"
"Of course,"
Kuroo followed Kenma upstairs, the two of them engaging in very competitive matches of mario kart, the only game Kuroo could hold a candle to Kenma in, though he still rarely won. After a few races though, one of the two had attained a losing streak.
"Are you letting me win or something?"
"I'm just tired, I went to bed late," Kenma defended.
"You always go to bed late."
"Extra late then, I don't know."
Kuroo raised an eyebrow, though Kenma was turned away from him. "You feeling okay?" He questioned, knowing he'd get a non-answer.
"Yeah, just tired."
"Should I go home so you can sleep?"
Kenma shook his head, "Nah. We can watch the movie you told me about last night if you want."
"Alright yeah, set it up while I pee?"
Kenma nodded as Kuroo walked off into the bathroom, checking his phone.
A text from Coach Nekomata flashed across the top of his screen.
Coach: Karasuno has called me forty times asking for a few practice games Friday night, should I reserve the gym for more hours for you?
Kuroo: That would be awesome, thanks Coach! I'll let the team know, they'll be thrilled.
Coach: Sounds good.
