We were still Besties but the problem was. We were growing apart.
I was starting to hangout with the boys. There was one lad I would always talk to. Darren.
Darren was short with black hair, blue eyes and freckles. He loved rap music. On the other hand, Beth hung out with a group of girls. She would always talk to Amelia. Amelia had small, metal framed glasses with blue eyes and brown hair, a bit similar to Darren just instead of loving rap, she liked pop music.
One day, I caught up with Beth." Hey Beth..." I awkwardly called," would you want to hangout at the old treehouse after school? Just like the old times?"
She turned to me with a stern face until suddenly, she smiled." Of course I would Skylar! Can we bring our cassettes? Just like old times?" I just smiled awkwardly with my thumbs up." S-Sure!" I exclaimed as she walked away.
During lunch I caught up with Darren." Hey Darren?" I ask as I sat down next to him." I'm meeting up with my old friend so I can't come to your place to study, I'm sorry. Maybe tomorrow?" He turns to me with a soft smile," Oh that's understood! Could I hangout with you's?" He asks with a odd tone." Umm it would be best if not, we can study tomorrrow though." I say.
He gets up as he heads to the bin with a stomp. Weird.
At break I decided to practice basketball alone. After a few minutes I felt someone was watching me." Hello?" I ask, looking around the empty gymnasium. In the corner I notice a dark figure slumpt on the floor. Concerned, I walked towards it." Hello?" I call out once again. Soon I notice it was Amelia.
" Amelia?" I ask as she slowly rose up from her spot." Oh hello Skylar." She greets me with a unusual tone." I overheard your conversation with Beth. May I hangout with you two?" She asks as I stare blankly at her." Umm, sorry but we are just catching up. We could hangout at the arcade at the weekend though if you would like that?" I awkwardly reply before going back to practice.
