A fairy tail upon a dream

If you were to approach me and say those awful three words

"I'm leaving you" 

I would look at you and call you a liar

for what should've been forever 

turned into a measly year 

you promised forever 

so what changed?

Did I embarrass you with how I act?

Did your friends say,

"Bro she's not up your alley way, you'll be dragged down"

 Did my looks not attract you now?

Did my acne get too bad?

Did something happen with my body not being big enough?

Or was my body too thin to be considered "healthy" 

None of those were the answer..

I looked at you

And when I looked at you I was content 

safe

home

But not to you

For that measly year you were happy

at the start

until you were a little 

not so interested 

I noticed it but never said much

How you would look at girls 

Just like you did me

Once upon a time

But unlike that once upon a time

We weren't the same people

We didn't live in this thing we call

A fairy tail

It was all a dream

A dream in my head I made up

To think that everything was okay 

When everything wasn't 

The way you looked at me

You now look at her

And all I can do is ask

Why?

What did I do?

When in fact

I did

nothing 

I did nothing wrong 

The only thing I did was stay

I stayed by your side throughout the bad nights 

I held you close and told you 

"It'll be alright"

The reason you are doing this 

Is because our fairy tail 

Came to an end

When I was the blind one

I looked at you and my eyes would shine

My heart would flutter 

All while you

Were thinking of another

I look towards you and say

You won't get the last say

Because I will not stay 

The love we had was once so great

But now our chapter is fading away

So my dearly beloved 

You came to say goodbye?

Well,

That's quite alright,

Because now I close our chapter

And bid you fell well 

For this fairy tail 

Will not be held and bind 

Away from a true 

Once upon a time
