Y/N's POV:

'THIS IS BULLSHIT! Why couldn't they have just made Alex come in? Everyone knows he's lying about being sick, he does this all the time. That dumbass left his location on, and on top of that he was posting about it on Insta. We all know he was clubbing last night. If I was manager I would've made him come in and suffer anyway. AND FIRED HIM AT THE END OF HIS SHIFT TOO! Just because I'm petty like that. Almost everytime he does this, I'm the one who gets called in. It's not fair! They seriously called me in at 9:50 at night. They gave me that assholes closeing shift knowing I have stuff to do tomorrow.'

I continued to rant to myself, and as I did so, I didn't realize that I'd walked too far. The alley I normally used as a shortcut to work was back two buildings. But I didn't notice. I only noticed that I was in the wrong alley when a little, light gray cat rubbed up on my leg. I refocused on reality and bent down to pet the kitty for a few minutes before picking it up. I noticed some blood on his fur, and guessed he must've gotten hurt somehow.

I could tell he was a boy because he had some major kahunas when I picked him up. (LMAO sorry)

I started to walk away, confident that I would still be able to find my way to work from where I was at now, when I heard a shuffling. There's a vet clinic not too far from my job, so I could drop him off there before I go in and check on him during my break and after work. Maybe I could get a new pet or help get him find his home; either one is good. Though if that noise came from another injured animal, then I can't just leave them out here.

I walked closer to where the sound came from cautiously, because while the possibility that the sound did come from an animal was high, this was also New York. And it's a big city, so you never really know what's gonna be around the corner. It could be a cat, or a trash wizard. Who knows? The closer I got the more I could see; and the less I liked what I saw.

There was some kind of green-humanoid-turtle-thing. It looked like it was..sorta wearing clothes and it had a black ninja mask on. The cat jumped out of my arms. It was breathing harshly and very loudly. It was hunched over a..a dead body, both covered in blood. Just like the walls and ground, and the cat as well.

I prayed that thing wouldn't see me; that I could just stay here until it went away. Luck was not on my side however, because just then the cat began to yowl and hiss with its back arced and fur stood. This drew the full attention of black masked creature.

Once it looked my way, I froze. I didn't know what to do. Even if I did know I wouldn't have been able to do it. I had never been so afraid in my life. That thing slowly started to walk towards me, and then it spoke.

"Oh!" It sounded so cheery. It was even smiling at me. Like a child opening gifts on their birthday.

"Hello!" It started walking towards me, and with each step I took one back. Though I could only take about 3 1/2 until I was against a wall. But it kept moving. "So, ya'know. You weren't really supposed to that. But it's okay!" the expression on his face grew slightly darker with each sentence. When he spoke again, he was mere inches from my face with a sharp object against my throat. I wa too afraid to see what it was, but I knew if I made the wrong move I would be dead. "Because I know that a good girl such as yourself would do as she's told and never tell anyone of this encounter.. Right?"

All of that, he said with a rather calm look and a bright but somehow menacing smile on his face. But what he said next along with the look on his face would give me nightmares for weeks."Or else I'd have to find you, and carve up that adorable face of yours and we certainly wouldn't want that, now would we?" I still couldn't move. I could only stand there in fear. The cat had gone silent, as if the second the creature's aura got close enough, it had taught the feline who was in really charge.

Currently, it was inches away from me. I felt as though my autopilot breathing had shut down. Like I had forgotten how to live. Because at this point I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe, and I couldn't even blink, much less look away. Just then, I felt a cold sensation carressing my lower left cheek and jawbone. It was the turtle-creature's hand. "Right?" It said again.

Then I realized what it wanted. An answer. So I panicked and spilled everything that came to mind.

"Yea, yea totally. I mean, I'm an orphan so I don't have parents or siblings. And I don't talk to anyone at school so I don't really have friends either so like I'm not exactly popular but I'm not an outcast or bullied either I mean the only people I really talk to are my co-workers but they're not really friends friends they're more so just people that I know. An IF I did go to the police or tried to tell anyone they'd never believe so what would be the point anyway? I mean, a person murdered in an ally by a giant green ninja? CMON! I'd be all over the news and papers as the crazy girl. Who would I tell? I probably just hit my head and this is probably just a nightmare!" I said, in the most awkward and fear ridden way that I ever had.

Currently, I was praying to every God and Goddess that ever has and ever will exist that I didn't offend him by any of that. Especially the part when I called him a 'giant green ninja'.

The creature leaned in close to my right ear and spoke in a whisper, "That's right. It's just a nightmare. Now you better behave so I don't have hurt you, okay cutie? Now run."
That was all I needed to snap out of my frozen state, grab the cat, and book it back home.

Before I got completely out of earshot, the turtle thing called out one last warning. "And remember; NOT A WORD!" Those were the last words I had heard from that creature. I went straight home.

Like hell am I going back out there now. Work can kiss my ass for all I care, I ain't risking that shit. FUCK NO! With a capital FUCK.

I finally got a good distance away from where it all went down and realized that I had forgotten to take the cat to the vet. 'Welp. I guess he's coming with me for the night. I'll take him to the vet tomorrow.' I thought, still very shaken. Soon enough, the both of us made it back to my apartment. Since I obviously didn't own any pets I didn't have any pet food. But I did have canned chicken. So that's what I gave the little guy to eat. He seemed to like it enough.

"That really was... something, huh?" I said, speaking my thoughts to the cat. He paid me no attention though, as he was only focused on eating. "Well while you do that, I'm gonna go have a breakdown in the shower, and then I'm gonna go to bed."

I was half joking.

Sorry that this was such a short chapter everyone, it's like 2am and I have school tomorrow. But I've been gone for so long that I wanted to post something. It's okay though, this is my usual school sleep schedule so it's not like much will have changed lmao.

This is Noah BTW. He's a rat, if you couldn't tell, and I have pictures of him stalking me, but it won't let me upload them. I'll put them in the next chapter if I can. And yes, little kitty is based off of this beautiful lil baby boy. 😚😚😚
