Red and Yellow have always been close. They look out for each other, from when they barely met, to when one was missing. They usually try to spend time with each other when they have the chance, and today is no different.
Red and Yellow resided in Viridian Forest, with the duo sitting back on a tree as Yellow drew in her sketchbook with Red watching. There was a silence with them, and yet the silence was comforting. They would enjoy these times with each other, with the serene nature complimenting their energy. Red was watching Yellow sketch until flower petals started flowing into their position, the wind influencing the colorful petals. The duo were mildly stunned, as they stopped what they were doing and stood up a bit afterwards.
"Well, that was a bit unexpected." Red mentioned, dusting his usual outfit as the wind stuck a few flower petals to him. "Do you want to go see what it was?" Yellow asked, turning to face the red-eyed boy. Red took a moment to process this, until he suddenly held out his hand to Yellow. "Sure, why not?" he grinned, who was as curious as Yellow was about what caused the outburst of flower petals. Yellow looked as the hand that reached out to her, and hesitantly, she also reached her arm over, interlocking her hand with his. She would use her other hand to pull her hat down a bit over her face, looking away and blushing at the contact. Red smiled to this, with a slight tint of red on his face. He was a bit oblivious to his blushing, but his instincts were the reason for such.
As they walking in the direction of where the petals came from, hand in hand, they would look around, admiring the scenery. Red, however, was looking at Yellow for the majority of the time. Yellow soon noticed his gaze and blushed a bit more to this. "Why are you looking at me like that..?" she asked, stuttering throughout the sentence she barely managed to get out. "Well, I just want to see you without your hat for a bit." Red says. He did see how she looked without her hat, but just not very clearly. After all, he was getting kidnapped by an ice sculpture the first time he saw her without her hat. That was also when he realized that she was actually a girl.
"Do you.. want me to take my hat off?"
"Only if you want to. I don't want to force you."
"Well... I guess I can take it off for a little."
She took off her straw hat, revealing her blonde hair which was in a ponytail. Red continued to look at her with a blank expression, which made Yellow a bit anxious for his response. But not for long, because Red quickly smiled at her, which made Yellow's fear turn into embarrassment. "You look great!" Red said, mildly aware to his blush but mentally decided it was nothing. Yellow, on the other hand, was a blushing mess. She didn't say anything, but she looked away and started walking again. Red would comply, slipping his hand into hers and walking next to her as Yellow would continue to be overwhelmed.
Eventually, the sun started to show; the light dispersed after a few seconds, revealing an assortment of flowers in different colors; the flowers ranging longer than the human eye can see. "This... this is beautiful." Yellow finally managed to say. The two looked around in awe, shocked because of how beautiful the sight was. Their eyes eventually wandered to each other, as if they already knew what they wanted to do. Carefully, they started to walk again while avoiding stepping on any flowers. The wind blew on their faces, truly completing the atmosphere that has been created.
"We have to remember where this place is." Red said.
"Agreed." Yellow replied, still a bit flustered but managed to speak without stuttering.
After walking for a few minutes, they found one patch, lone from the others yet in the center of them all. A tree would cover the patch, letting the shade cover the flowers. The flowers were the most beautiful out of all that they have seen, and so they kneeled down next to the tree. Yellow placed down her sketchbook and hat while Red would do the same with his hat.
"We should pick a flower to remember this place." Yellow said. Red would nod, still smiling and looked around the small flower patch. "Lets pick the most beautiful one!" Yellow said with enthusiasm, joining Red in looking for a flower to pick.
"The most beautiful one, huh?" Red questioned. "In that case..."
Yellow wondered what Red was talking about, until she felt a finger touch her cheek. She would look to her side, to see Red grin. "I choose this one!" he said, which left Yellow irresponsive for a few seconds until her face flushed a deep hue of red. "E-Eh?!" Yellow stuttered, only making Red smile more. "The most beautiful one is right here." Red tenderly said, picking a flower and putting it in her hair. Yellow, whose face was the color of the males namesake, simply turned away and put her hands over her heart. Her heart was practically beating out of her chest; she could feel every single beat and she couldn't stop it.
After Yellow's blush dialed down and was able to look at Red in the eye again (much to Red's joy, he thought he broke Yellow), they would eventually get up and leave. But just as they were about to go, Red noticed that the sun was setting, so he quickly got Yellow's attention by tapping her shoulder and pointed to the sun. Yellow was at first surprised by Red getting her attention (she was still kind of flustered after all), but once she saw the sun going down, she eased up. The two watched the sun go down, holding hands with the other. Their hands interlocked, they knew one thing; they would cherish this memory forever.
